Hey all...it's been awhile but wanted to post an update. I never did follow up to say his body was found about a month later in the exact same spot myself, friends, family and law enforcement had already looked. Yes, something smelled of the whole process and being a former cop myself I'd seen it all many times before. Anyway, if you want the full story which made Advocate front page today see below.

sorry you lost someone close to you. Drugs are definitely bad. Glad they got the POS that sold him fentanyl.

That private investigator reached out to a contact with the NAACP and told him ‘Her oldest son is an FBI agent and he too wants his brother’s body so if we don’t have a body by Wednesday, the feds are coming in.’ That call was on a Saturday. Monday morning, Shawn’s body showed up at the Ford St. house in the driveway.

Did the PI say who the NAACP called to get the situation taken care of? That part of the story was shady as hell.

Did you guys ever get any more on this? If you can show that left the area that they found his body in maybe someone can look deeper into this. This story is very sketchy and it looks like BRPD either is involved in some way or just doesn't give a shite.

Unfiltered with Kiran did not reach out to BRPD or the mayor’s office for a response to their report as neither will respond to calls or emails for comment saying UWK is not considered media and that they only interview with members of the media.
Wow.

Yeah.
And did the coroner’s autopsy say how long he had been dead before being found?
So either the guy had been dead for weeks and no one noticed him where they were looking… or he was dead and they didn’t move the body there until afterwards and pretended like he just died that weekend.

I posted about it this morning. It's looking like he OD'd at a known drug house. Seeing as BRPD already has an officer on paid leave for providing drug dealers with confidential information, it's not a far stretch to assume that this house could be on the payroll for certain BRPD members, and that the threat of the feds getting involved (despite how much of a joke the FBI is) may have caused the crooks to dump the body and phone it in so no investigation into the drug connection is formed.

I think you would find it hard to sell drugs out of a burned out shell of a house, but that’s just me.

Why? I watched a video of a homeless guy getting interviewed in San Fransisco. He said he is constantly approached by teenagers looking for heroine or oxycontin. He tells the kids, you can't afford that, but you can afford fentanyl, then shows the kids how to save the other kids lives when they will eventually overdose, by injecting them with Norcan.
If you want to get high, you really don't give a shite where you have to go or how dangerous or sketchy the situation is.
Also, are crack houses known to not be shitholes?

My point is that the house burning down would make the dealers move elsewhere and have the buyers follow.
Buyers would crawl over broken glass to get a fix. I’m not sure the dealers are at that level to make their sale.

I read the second "unfiltered" article and I'm not sure if I'm more angry or more sad. Or both.
Something's got to give.

All the sympathy in the world to the family. I know it has to be terrible. I couldn't even imagine this being my son.
But from my point of view, I don't care about drug dealers and users and who did what. How and when did he die and who did what? I don't care. Don't do drugs.

This case isn’t the problem as much a symptom of bigger issues with both crime and BRPD.

i feel the same exact way, but, there's more going on here than drug dealers and users.
Murphey Paul is a piece of shite.
