Jesus Christ people. If a cop wanted to murder someone (over loud music LoL) they would find a MUCH better way to do it than to shoot the person, call 911 themselves and say "I thought it was my apartment."
That only happens on TV, the average cop is not that smart.

Saw this pointed out on Twitter....
If its 10pm at night, wouldn't turning on the light in your apartment be the first thing you'd do? Just about any apartment or house for that matter has a light switch by every entrance, especially apartments.
Even light from the hallway would illuminate some portion of the apartment. So we are to believe she walks, closes the door and doesn't turn on one light, then sees a shadowy figure in the dark?
her story is full of crap

Lol at people trying to make this a conspiracy. She has no excuse to have shot the guy, she went to the wrong apt and did. She is guilty. Not sure why we have to unravel her story piece by piece.
I go into my house and don’t turn on lights all the time, it may be crazy but I know where everything is located. Why turn on my hallway light if I’m going to my kitchen or bedroom? No need. But even if she turned on a hallway light that doesn’t mean further down the apt where the victim may have been was more visible.

I don't think there is a conspiracy but her story raises more questions that until all details of the investigation come out won't be answered.

Haven’t read all 20 plus pages, but is this where we blame the victim for playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes?
Protect dat shield, baws.

Why? Her basic story is she went into the wrong place on accident and shot a guy she thought was in her own apt. Has that changed? Sure, some excuses have been thrown out as expected. Sure her excuses are BS, you can’t shoot someone in their own home.
But I don’t really get why anyone is trying to believe her, there’s not really a viable excuse that prevents her from going to some sort of prison. Whether it be 2 years or 20+ is really the only thing left to determine.

No , this is where you shut the frick up because you admittedly haven't read the thread and realized NO ONE in here is defending this woman. She is guilty of manslaughter, that's clear.

Yeah...
negligence/stupidity/mistakes do not equal police brutality/racism
I don’t think there’s any evidence thus far to suggest that it was intentional. It doesn’t excuse her actions and she should face consequences but the media is definitely trying to make it out to be something it’s not

Yep. Here is what really happened.
An otherwise stable and hard-working police officer woke up that morning and thought to herself: “Self, I am sick and fricking tired of that black guy accountant that lives on the floor above me. What I am going to do is work a 15 Hour shift and then come home and murder that motherfricker. BUT, I am not going to work up any relatively plausible plan to get away with it. Instead, I am just going to plan on his apartment door being unlocked (because if it is locked none of this will work) and then I am going to blast him twice but only hit him once. Because if I really wanted to kill him I could shoot him six or eight times but frick that. Then, once I shoot him, I will call 911 and report myself and then apply first aid to try to save his life.” Yep. Good plan.

How the frick you go into the WRONG apartment?
Man we need some smarter cops. And to think politicians wish to take my weapons and keep them in these fools hands.
Think not, id rather die with my weapons. Jesus what a dumb mother fricking bitch.

Local mews reporting 2 separate witnesses said they heard her banging on the door and saying let me in before the shooting.

An attorney for the family of a man shot dead by a police officer in the man's own apartment said a police affidavit shows investigators immediately sought evidence to discredit the victim. "They immediately began looking to smear him," said Lee Merritt, who represents the family of Botham Jean, who was shot dead in his own Dallas apartment Sept. 6.

A police affidavit shows that officers seized, among other items, 10.4 grams of marijuana and a marijuana grinder from Jean's apartment. Merritt said the search warrant showed investigators were immediately looking for drug paraphernalia, CBS Dallas / Fort Worth reports.

Why would anyone care if the guy had some pot?

Because it gives the officer some breathing room if they can claim he was high/smoking/habit of using illegal drugs, etc. If he's no longer the untouchable white collared bachelor, his character becomes a lot more vulnerable.

Is 10 g of MJ a lot or like a personal lil stash?
ETA: Just out of my own curiosity. I don't think this should matter at all in this case.

yep.
this is frustrating.
it is being turned into a white vs black thing.
when it should be a: a cop fricked up, police department fricked up trying to cover it, and all involved should face jail time including manslaughter for killing an innocent man in his own home.
but nope. let's send in BLM to protest and Jesse Jackson to speak in circle on TV. So now instead of culling dirty cops the media will be stirring up a white vs black war on social media.
