Right now, that's all the news outlets are announcing. They're putting it in updated stories so it's confusing that some have the found update almost exactly 12hours after the bad news.
I'll take the good news and breathe a major sigh of relief.

Story now is that it likely wasn’t a kidnapping. The car wasn’t put into park, it then rolled a few hundred yards into some kudzu.

Woodard said the investigation is ongoing, but they now believe that the SUV was likely not stolen.
It’s possible, he said, that the vehicle was not put into park and rolled hundreds of yards down a large embankment and into the thick kudzu. Or, he said, somebody else could have done it.
“We’re just not sure yet,’’ he said.

That’d be kudu. Kudzu is an invasive vine from Asia that will swallow the planet if not kept in check.
