Retiring from this site for mental health reasons. I guess buying what you can afford and not bitching about loans, rates, and insurance you don’t need is not the popular opinion of the state that ranks last in education. I’ve never told a lie on here. Good luck in your endeavors. Hope your loans and payments all work out. 2026…go!

Did you figure out how to open a brokerage account?

Why dress up when you're likely to have some TSA worker forcefully get to second base? And you're gonna have to take off your shoes, belt, etc.
With all of the torture you have to go through just to fly in the United States, why not be comfortable?

Flying isn't an upscale experience and hasn't been in years. I dress nicer on international first, but for regular cattle area on a clapped out 737 I'm not dressing up for that shite.

Stay tuned for the next "business conference" or "souped up golf cart" thread coming

When I first flew, women wore dresses and men wore suits.
Fast forward 50 years and I was often the only man on board with a suit and hat.
I stopped traveling 5 years ago and on my last flight into BTR, I saw pajama pants, boobs hanging out, politically offensive t-shirts, and unkempt hair/beards and generally offensive personal habits.
It spoke loudly about the loss of pride in the people of the USA.

This is your answer to men being poorly dressed?

IAH this morning. What has happened to the American male. 90% of the population has unkept facial hair, untucked shite,
Being “unkept” with an untucked “shite” is a problem, yes, but not nearly so great a problem as functional illiteracy and inattention to detail.

Untucked shirts are an option A lot of men go untucked to carry concealed although not in an airport.
99% of the time when I’m not at work I’m in T-shirt and jeans. I don’t think I’ve tucked in a shirt with jeans or shorts on in 20 years.

Babytac isn't actually at the airport, it's more recycled garbage

Not very hard at all. But how hard is it to just not care about what other people wear to be comfortable on airplanes?
Because pajamas and body suits are sloppy, and low class. While BabyTac is a try hard douche, I agree with him that people don’t dress properly to be out in public. You don’t need a suit, but for God’s sake don’t wear pajamas or a plain white T that’s 2 sizes too small or a skin tight body suit that leaves nothing to the imagination.
People, in general, look like shite in public now, far more than when I was growing up 30 years ago in the late 1900’s

This sounds like more of an issue with attractiveness than how people dress. I assume if some smoking hot chick was wearing skin tight leggings or yoga pants you wouldn't be complaining about her. But the fat chick/dude wearing a shirt that's two sizes too small is off-putting.
I guess my thing is I just don't care what people wear. If someone wants to get comfortable and wear pajama pants on a flight, more power to them. And sure, I don't want to see some disgusting parts of obese people either. Would I wear pajama pants on a flight or out in public? Not since college. But I guess it just doesn't bother me if someone else does.
I mean shite, 100 years ago nobody went outside without a fricking suit on and dressed to the nines. But we don't do that anymore. Does that make them "better" back then than we are now, or is it just that times are different?
Like I said to BabyTac in my initial post, I understand the complaint, I just typically don't let shite like that really bother me.

Largely yes.

I’d never start a thread on it, but I have complained about it, usually because the person dressed like shite acts like a selfish slob in the middle of the airport and acts like the world revolves around him or her. Phone volume at 100%, speaker phone on, loudly talking/yelling/laughing. It’s just a further piece of evidence that people have become much more selfish

This I agree with. I think this is also largely responsible for y’all feeling this way. If people were in pajama pants or white tees and everyone was acting like a normal human being, I suspect you may not hate it as much. But because nobody seems to have any social awareness or give a shite about not bothering people in public, it magnifies other things (such as how they dress).
Societal politeness has gone out the window and that bothers me way more than someone wearing comfy clothes on a plane.

flying 9-10 hrs non stop in jeans is bad enough. I'd hate to think what a suit would be like.
give me something soft and stretchy with no seams but doesn't look like PJ's.
