Its great how we continuously reduce our standards in education, business, and politics to accommodate these people. I am sure lowering our education standards because black and mexicans cant get their shite together wont have any long lasting consequences.

I’m amazed that so many people here give a shite about what the UCs decided to do with its admission policy.
Then they feel the need to Discuss what the SAT/ACT was like 20 years ago when they took it.

Does any online school require these tests?

This is the reasoning, period. California outlawed race being considered in admissions. When the system became more numerically focused, the percentage of Asians rose considerably while other minorities shrank in numbers. Removing one of the main numerical inputs makes it much harder to judge between two students. The number of Asians enrolled is about to drop while other minorities rise.

oh 100% this is a very racist, anti-Asian policy

If you want to go out of state you take the test because serious schools require it. That sample is smarter than the first.
No, that's wrong. All the top schools (e.g., Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Stanford) are taking steps to bolster their application numbers. They are willing to trade higher acceptance rates for steady admission rates. It is the best year in recent memory to apply to the Ivies, in fact, many are over-admitting by 5-10% with the expectation that some students won't enroll come Fall.
And just FYI, the UC system has the two top-ranked public schools in the country, both of which are ranked higher than, say, Tulane. Hard to say UCLA and Berkeley are not 'serious' schools.

Have you heard about legacy admissions and Ivy League schools

I made a 19 on the ACT. 26 in English and 11 in math

California should be its own country. Full on retard mode over there.
Those tests do mean something. What do you trust? A well-rounded standardized test or an inflated 4.0 gpa from someone who turns in all his homework at some dump public school?

they had some really stupid subjective questions
Just because you don’t understand their intent doesn’t mean they’re stupid. Most of those questions are IQ and prep questions.
If you took a prep course they prepare you for what to look for and how to answer those questions. Or if you’re natural skilled in puzzle solving and logic games you can figure out the pattern they’re showing and how to play the game.
Both your ability and effort in prep work and base IQ are good things for a college to know, right? Especially when determining academic scholarships and competitive limited entry spots.
The point is not everyone can or even should go to college.
The greatest lie sold to our youth right now is that you have to attend a 4 year university to do anything.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with learning a trade and there is no reason we can’t have a shorter two year system for basic business, accounting, and economic principles.

As a math teacher at a pretty good high school, this is so true. It all starts with the parents feeding their kids these lies. It’s like parents don’t want to be the parents whose kids don’t go to college because then their parent friends will look down on them or something. It’s fricking stupid. I always tell my classes that going to college is not the only way to be successful.

Class anxiety is certainly part of it.

Wait. A standardized test score is subjective?

A lot of people will here will probably shite on this because it's California but those test are worthless
Yea because it's not like some schools or entire school systems inflate their grades. It's been awhile but didn't a NO school's valedictorian not pass 10th grade level testing or something like that and finding out they inflated grades of the good kids to give them a chance to get away from the crap.
I do agree to point that tests may be over emphasized and that there shouldn't be a micro economy based on tutoring and improving test scores along with students taking them too many times; but without some standard test and rating system for students, schools, & school systems (including across states) GPA is hard to use outside of comparisons of students taking same classes within individual schools and some school districts that work on consistency or that don't have magnet or charter schools while letting the rest go to hell (even then whether new or other reasons top 10% of one school wouldn't all be in 10% in next school 2 miles away which along with filling out sport teams in one HS near us at the time was reasoning for some to seek transfers from our assigned HS to a newer school that several years ago started with just a freshman class and had a lot of open slots to fill out JR and SR classes).
