You are working for a great company!

100% agree. Not too many people know we are owned by comcast (and a lot of those perks role down to us). The benefits are great.

I liked BTTF way more than the Simpson's reskin, but the Simpson's section is way more popular. I barely ride Simpsons though or even do more than just walk through it to get somewhere else.
Just heard Universal is considering dumping Simpsons now that Disney owns it. Contract is up for renewal. Word is Pokemon will replace it along with the tents that usually house HHN behind it.
Zelda already rumored to replace Lost Continent. Nintendo coming in strong for Universal.

The Simpson area in Universal was decent but underwhelming when I went in 2019. I don't know if Disney would end up doing anything in the parks with that IP, but if Universal would put more effort into a different IP they should absolutely dump the Simpsons.

Universal is pretty awesome.
I'd take it over Disney, although Disney does a lot of things better

I went last November. The simpsons area is outdated! Still probably the most intense simulator ride they have though.

Yeah I doubt Disney does anything with Simpsons, but I could definitely see Disney putting the screws into Universal if the contract is up for renewal because of the other contract they share with Marvel being part of Islands of Adventure and keeping the best parts of Marvel out of Florida Disney parks.
I wish Universal would replace Marvel Island with something better, it needs an update bad, but they can't update it with the same IP without Disney approval.
Pokemon in a theme park would absolutely dominate down there, that's for sure.

We love Disney (2 girls, aged 10 and 4) and have made several trips in recent years. My oldest got really into Harry Potter books so went there this fall and ended up getting season passes to Universal (was like an extra $100 per person vs 2 day tickets) and have already made 2 trips. It's a great value as compare to Disney IMO.

user bioreconstruct on twitter has amazing coverage of construction projects. This park is far, far along. Plus, you can drive by and see it.

Universal also screwed Kong up too, IMO
If there ever was a chance to make a bad arse coaster, Kong was it.
There was an era where all these parks thought they needed to do was embrace screens. Luckily, that era has mostly passed.
Universal was getting their arse kicked by SeaWorld in the coaster department, so they upped the game. The parks have so much going on since 2020 thanks to competition.

In fact rumor is they completely redesigned the Universal Monsters indoor dark ride to exclude any screens and everything be practical effects.
It seems like Universal wants to be king of the coasters now. I am all for it. VelociCoaster is the best one I have ever ridden.

I will not accept any How to Train Your Dragon slander in this thread.
It's one of the best kids film franchises in the last 20 years.

I was just at a trade show at the OCCC, and can't help but think how rich the owners of shitty old hotels there are about to be when this opens. That Top Golf is going to be nuts with people.
It's a great location for the park....

If we leave politics out of it, Disney parks still offer a better product, but Universal is right on their heels.

Yeah and cross dressers and trannies with attitude have killed the “magic” of the Disney “cast members”.

I can’t wait to go but I will wait until 2026. When they open in 2025 is going to be crazy.
I believe I read somewhere there will be no annual passes for the first year, and they will ramp up attendance in the soft opening period by invite only to gradually raise the crowd levels over a couple of months before just letting everyone in free for all style

I have been to universal and I have watched a lot of things about this new epic park - unfortunately it drops the ball for me
Sure, it’s going to be be beautiful and pretty and cool and all of that but I prefer a six flags over this anyday.
I like to ride roller coasters and not wait in line to ride something while looking at cute que lines.
There just isn’t going to be enough rides for my taste in this new epic park

There’s a 0% chance virtual queues actually happen in the manner you guys are expecting, as said there’s no room. The ride lines are a massive portion of the parks capacity, If people aren’t in line where are they going to go? I’ve been at Disney in the “offseason” and portions of magic kingdom were shoulder to shoulder already.
I went to Disney Paris in 2022 and it was great because….it wasn’t busy. The entire issue with Disney World isnt the genie+ or anything else, it’s there are too many people. I don’t know the answer, but no one complains about Disney Land because…it’s not busy.
So I’m not sure the solution as far as build more parks, reduce capacity, increase price, etc. but the issue is just too many people.

Universal is seeing Disney getting lost and seizing the moment. Excellent.
