Oh yea?!? Well disney just spent hundreds of millions of dollars to plant some trees in epcot and make a new fountain… that broke in the first few months and has the paint peeling off.

Im there with you.

Disney has lost IT. They ran out of pixie dust many years ago now. Everything that made the guest stay just feel different, at disney, has been taken away or nickle and dimed to death.

How big a mortgage you need to take out for entry?

Have been seeing the rumors about what it would entail for a while... Its very meh to me.

How to train your dragon and classic monster world, meh... Could have picked better franchises to go in on.

Nintendo and Harry Potter should be great though.

There are rumors around Simpsons land in Universal being converted to Pokemon world.

There's some really solid youtube channels that give super detailed updates. It's wild. They look at the permits to show what to expect etc. Way more info than I could ever fathom digging for.

You have to make a theme park reservation to even get into a park.

That ended

Disney would be better served putting a capacity restriction at all parks to make the experience more enjoyable.

For pure ride experience, Universal is best

Universal definitely upped their game in regards to theming with Harry Potter...both lands are incredible.

From an attraction standpoint, Hagrids and Velocicoaster are good, REALLY good, but those are the only two rides to me that have a real re-rideability component. Universal is fun but there is only a handful of things in each park that really bring me back.

Genie+

As a person who took their family to Disney at least once a year from 2007 until 2022, Genie+ is why I will never set foot in a Disney park as long as it is in use.

We went to Universal in 2023 and being able to use the Unlimited Express Pass was a game changer.

Yep, it's the first time in history you really can see real time updates on a brand new theme park getting built. It's really a sight to behold. It's coming along quickly.

Just recently, but thats not the major issue with Disney, its the wait. The fact that you have to purchase lightening lane and then can only have one ride booked at a time. Went to Hollywood last year and in 7hours, was only able to ride 4 things and see one show.

Universal knows how to do it with express pass.

There are rumors out there that Disney is going to do away with queuing. You will book experience via app and then just show up to ride at your time. They are doing this so people are walking around and spending money, rather than standing in lines for hours upon hours and not having access to throw $$$ to Disney. Its genius actually.

I've heard this from a friend. She said at Disney it's way too much looking your phone and planning. Universal you can basically keep it in your pocket and just focus on fun.

Genie+ is probably the most in-your-face fleecing i’ve seen in a looong time.

Everyone thinks they have to have it, so everyone pays hundreds of dollars to add it on.

Then so many people have it, you end up waiting in line just as long.

Express Pass is one of the best parts of the Universal Experience. We stay at the hotels that bundle it with your stay. They are generally more expensive, but seeing a 70 min wait then walking through the express pass line to be on and off the ride in 15mins is well worth it.

Rumor is they are building a new queue for Hagrids that will have a express pass entrance.

Blows my mind this hasn’t been done in some capacity before.

“Okay, it’s a 60 minute wait.”
*check in*
“Alright let’s go grab a beer and site see.”

Its not just having to be on your phone the whole time, its not being able to ride the good rides more than once a day.

Last trip to Disney was an 8 day trip. Went to Epcot twice. How many times did I get to ride Guardians of the Galaxy? Twice.

At Universal, my daughter rode Velocicoaster 6 times in a row, in the middle of the day. One of the most popular rides in the park, at the busiest time of the park!

Impossible at Disney.

This is not accurate at all. About half of park guests buy it. When FP and FP+ was free, everybody had it so the waits are less now with Genie + than they were with FP+. There are some people who are constantly trying to move their times or attractions and if you do that you will be on your phone alot but it isn't really necessary.

Book the first at 7am and you know the next one you can book is at 11am. From there it's either every two hours from the last one you booked or when you've used the ones you have reserved.

Express is easier but you really need to see if the rides that are on it are things you would do anyway. If it reduces your wait on something you don't plan to do, the time savings doesnt help.

There are some parks at WDW where it doesnt really make sense if you can be there when the park opens and can be there when it closes (animal kingdom and epcot) but buying Individual Lightning Lanes and Genie plus has been awesome.

Just got back from a father /daughter trip a couple weeks ago and our longest wait for anything we did the entire trip was Frozen Ever After at rope drop and we waited less than 30 minutes.

This!

And the queue for Hagrids will be awesome! Absolutely my most favorite ride at any theme park!
