Yea apparently Chicken's pilot friend isn't a math major or maybe he thinks the flight was going to travel at warp speed and drop the United crew off in their beds at the hotel. It probably would've cost the crew members 2-3 hours.
The FAA requires that the pilots get 10 hours from the time they arrive at a hotel.

United announced they needed volunteers at 340pm

And then they still boarded the plane knowing every passenger had arrived through security. That is unreal. Talk about a piss poor job by United.

They should have just offered more in vouchers until a volunteer came forward

A supervisor came on the plane and said they were about to choose someone to pluck. Another passenger said they would volunteer for $1500 of the almost unusable coupons.

The supervisor basically told the volunteer to go frick himself. They arrived shortly to assault the frail, elderly man.

Also, if a cop shows up at your house and demands to search it with no warrant, you refuse, and he beats you down with video...guess what, if you just let him search your house, we wouldn't be talking about it, right?

+1. We're supposed to be a nation of rules and laws, not people and authority.

i don't think you or I know the full story...but we all know that if the dude acts like a normal human being and obeys direct orders from a police officer, we wouldn't be talking about it

We shouldn't question the damn near police state that has developed around transportation since 2001, for very little benefit? Conversation is good all the time. We should be talking about this.

Sure. But you skipped a bunch of reasons that united fricked up that led to this

1. Didnt have enough crew

2. fricked up logistics about getting crew there

3. Didnt offer enough voucher money

4. Possibly broke their own policy

5. Asian acts unruly

You skipped all of Uniteds faults that were done well before the asian even came into play and went straight to the Asian guy to blame. Seems that you are very biased

He was actually, he raised his voice at the attendant.

It's mind boggling. It's always, "just do what the cop says" first, and never, "Hey, why is that cop overstepping his boundaries"

Maddening.

The plane landed at 9:01pm in Louisville

They started asking for volunteers at 3:40pm in Chicago

They would have got to the hotel sooner driving. What dont you understand?

Had he been asked to leave randomly due to the airlines overbooking before raising his voice or flipping his seatbelt? Yes or no?

This happens pretty often. I've seen it first hand on a Delta flight.

I absolutely refuse to believe Delta has ever MADE a passenger take an offer against their will.

I have been on DL flights and listened to them make announcements over the speakers every couple of min increasing the offer by $100 until someone took it.

Literally an Article on Why this wouldn't happen on Delta

looks like airlines need more employees to handle their customers.

Why did he raise his voice, because they were asking him to....

Your failure to say maybe I'm wrong is crazy

How dare he! He should have lost a thumb at the very least in addition to being dragged from his seat like a dead cow!

For all the other passengers on that plane screaming and crying when this was happening they sure didn't offer to give up their seats so he could stay.

Jesus, policy is because the flight crew was a must fly - company policy.

Unruly because he didn't like he was picked.

You people are dense.

They shouldn't have had to, and frankly neither should he.

What constitutes 'raising your voice' to an attendant? What is the threshold for an attendant to call in the jack boots?
