...put on his seat belt. that was it. Police came on board, and he was escorted off.

Jesus, policy is because the flight crew was a must fly - company policy. Unruly because he didn't like he was picked. You people are dense.

The CEO is claiming it was $1000 in vouchers.

Wait, they were asking the guy to put on his seat belt? The same guy they selected to be removed from the plane?

Why would they ask the guy selected to not fly to put his seat belt on?

I'm talking about this United issue in the OP, fwiw. They went up to him and asked him to...

I'm more annoyed the deference, or that the doctor's reaction was somehow unreasonable, considering it was United's frick up

I 1000000% agree this is all on united, so I'm not trying to take their side. But the dude WAS unreasonable. He's a got damn adult not an 8 year old child. Screaming and going limp and having to be dragged off the plane is not a way a reasonable adult should act. Why didn't the other 3 that were involuntarily picked pitch a hissy fit?

Fact: If that dude just cusses under his breath like a normal person and angrily walks off the flight, none of these viral videos occur and we aren't talking about this today.

People on the flight are claiming it was 800. I'd trust them over the CEO.

She may have felt threatened, I don't know. We had pushed back, and went right back to the gate.

The CEO claims all kinds of shite that isn't borne out by either eyewitness accounts by passengers or by the video of the incident.

Eyewitnesses claim that $800 was offered and someone willing to take $1500 was laughed at by the United manager.

That was possibly made under false pretenses?

I don't know the more I read about this the more I think this dude was in the right.

I've read all the applicable parts of the Contract of Carriage for United. Everything with Involuntary Denied Boarding addresses how/why you would be denied "boarding", but once you've boarded the plane, I don't see how they could remove him. There are various reason you can be removed, but he doesn't seem to fit any of the criteria.

No, he'll be the client of a much, much better lawyer than I that will make some serious bank off of this.

I do applaud your trolling in this thread though. Quality stuff.

Cool

I mean it's not at all relevant to this circular logic argument you're presenting, but a cool story nonetheless.

That Junky poster will just ignore this, like he's continued to do...or say they were asking him off the plane because he was being unruly after admitting they selected him and asked him off the plane due to the must ride folks.

It does feel a little troll-ish at this point, or just ultra stubbornness.

I think you're missing the "Randomly select him to be removed for no reason and then when he becomes unruly, remove him for being unruly" Clause.

Rookie mistake.

I think it is human to be unreasonable in a situation where you asked off a flight you have already paid for.
