You do realize a smaller regional jet crashed due to not enough crew rest, right?
no it crashed because they are stupid. the airline should hire more crews. why don't you just admit that the airlines can remedy these issues but don't want to hurt profit margins.

United announced they needed volunteers at 340pm
If the crew stated driving to louisville, they would have been at the hotel for 9pm.
The flight arrived in Louisville at 9:01pm at the airport
Yeh, the sleep story is bullshite

Ok, so they weren't removed from the plan for being unruly for being forced to remove themselves from the plane
Seriously man

Sounds like that's United's problem
The only reason we are talking about this is that the unruly asian dude decided to resist the officers...

Telling him he's kicked off and then claiming he's a threat after that is probably the dumbest thing I've read in this entire thread.
Yeah that's not going to fly, no pun intended.
It's a bad situation created entirely by United Airlines, then made worse by United Airlines. They should have just offered more in vouchers until a volunteer came forward. And they should have done it at the gate.
They could have avoided this ordeal entirely. Their poor decision making and laughable customer service created the problem.

Come on Elon Musk. Build that HyperLoop.

Well, they likely timed out anyway. For a 4.5 hour drive, you only save about 1 hr in terms of driveway to driveway travel.....
They could have driven
Yea apparently Chicken's pilot friend isn't a math major or maybe he thinks the flight was going to travel at warp speed and drop the United crew off in their beds at the hotel. It probably would've cost the crew members 2-3 hours.

But yea, that same poster has said 1 million times they asked him off of the flight due to policy, now all of a sudden he's saying they asked him off the flight for being unruly. He's basically going back on his own statements, again, going out of his way to be right instead of just saying, "Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know, we'll see"

Asserting your right to a seat that by rules is yours does not make you unruly.
That's like me claiming someone is unruly after I ask and they refuse to give me their wallet and car keys.

Or because he got punched in the face and was dragged off the plain like he was cattle.

How is it the CEO's fault his company was following procedures and the doctor throws the tantrum? Again, he has to say they will review. They may make some changes, but simple fact of the matter is must flies will fly over passengers.
Seriously man, try to follow along and read what people are actually saying.
People are saying that they have the issue with the company policy (and they may have violated that too)
He's the face of a publicly traded company. He clearly failed at doing damage control, and he failed at this part, as I've repeatedly said from the beginning:

You obviously don't know the nuance involved to operating one that would be profitable

i don't think you or I know the full story
Difference is i haven't made much of an opinion, and have said we don't know about 10 times, and let's see as there's evidence to both sides. You, on the other hand, have made up your mind without having full access to what happened, as you just said.
quote:Correct. And guess what, if United followed their policy(possibly) we wouldn't be talking about it, right?
but we all know that if the dude acts like a normal human being and obeys direct orders from a police officer, we wouldn't be talking about it
Also, if a cop shows up at your house and demands to search it with no warrant, you refuse, and he beats you down with video...guess what, if you just let him search your house, we wouldn't be talking about it, right?

That was possibly made under false pretenses?
I don't know the more I read about this the more I think this dude was in the right.

I agree but if the flight wasn't overbooked (southwest, jet blue do not overbook flights) to assure "Every seat is full" and maximize profits a paying customer who happens to be doctor who may or may not have had to be somewhere on a timeframe doesn't get told to get off the plane to make room for 4 employees that are NOT paying their way.
overbooking flights is pure greed and stupid as shite. it came back to bite them in the arse.

I'm glad he did what he did and we are talking about it.
Airlines for too long have treated the consumer like absolute shite.

It's alarming that it's okay for a CEO to show a lack of responsibility, given that he has the power to affect major policies, while a lowly doctor who was rightly upset at being randomly chosen to be kicked off a flight is the scourge of humanity for not being 100% deferential to authority. Obviously we should all bow down to the Airport Security Team of the Department of Transportation, seeing as they know all, and are just and fair in all their dealings.
