Hell year. I wear V necks with work shirts. They keep dress shirts looking fresh longer because you don't pit out the dress shirt, just the undershirt.

I don't typically wear undershirts. If I do, I wear light grey crewneck or v-neck, depending on tie or open neck. I would recommend picking up light grey instead of white, for some reason or another you cannot see light grey under a shirt.
I use a non-aluminum deodorant. I don't find that I need to reapply it during the day. However, I sit at a desk all day. If I do have deodorant or sweat stains, mix a full scoop of oxyclean in a large basin (i.e., super concentrated amount) with all of your shirts and warm water, and let it sit for a day or two. Any deodorant or sweat stain will be gone. I have done this for years, and my shirts look good as new.

It never occurred to me that men didn't wear undershirts under polos. Is this an age thing? Every man I've been in a relationship with (all two of them) has worn undershirts with button downs & polos. 100% of the time. Both are mid-40s.
I did in HS some, but by the time I got to college almost none of us wore undershirts with polos. I don't pay that close of attention, but guys my age (early 30s) don't seem to wear them with polos or button downs very often here (Atlanta).
I wear mostly synthetic polos anyway, so I just don't see the point.
FWIW my dad is 58 and doesn't wear them either, but I think we came to that conclusion separately.

but you look like a goof if you wear them with polo shirts...
You look like a bigger goof with sweat stains. I will wear them under a polo everywhere except a golf course where I give zero fricks about sweat.

Now that we have covered how to wear or not wear undershirts, what's the OT's take on flip flops with jeans?
Don't do it.

I wear an undershirt everyday. It doesn't matter if I'm plowing my field in coveralls or taking a client to lunch in a suit.

I'm 35. When I was in high school and college, the popular look was visible crew neck undershirt with everything; polos, button ups, sweaters, etc.
No that I'm in a business casual office setting, I really never see a visible undershirt.
There's nothing wrong with wearing an undershirt, just make sure nobody can see it.

No undershirt under any circumstance.

If you are 12 years old, crew neck undershirts under a full button dress shirt/oxford. Otherwise, that is terrible fashion advice.

I use antiperspirant and am not a fatty... So sweating is not a problem.

If the situation or my comfort call for it, yay. If not, nay...unless I just feel like wearing one, then yay again.

You look like a clown or 14 years old if you wear an undershirt.

I normally wear an undershirt. I got use to it from work. (Hot, nasty climate.) A white t shirt works in two fold.
It keeps you cooler because of the layering effect.
It also works as a filter to keep the odor down.
Wife beater, crew or V neck Tee, is your decision.
They all have their place.
