Lol and China will have built another 100 Coal units that each put out more greenhouse gases than all the vehicles in Britain

Seriously
What level of reclused denial you have to be to think the market can’t provide wide spread electric cars in a handful of years, much less 15.

15 years all new cars will be electric? No chance.

If your neighbors are trashy does that mean you have to be trashy too?
Although I thought Boris and his ilk were kinda MAGA. Go figure.

No it’s not. Unless they are greatly regulating the natural material mines required to get the materials to make batteries, this will result in a net negative for the environment. That’s even if you believe CO2 is directly linked to climate change

Seeing 2035 I was thinking “well at least they have a few decades to do it”
Then seeing you say it’s only in 15 years made me feel old as frick. Where does the time go.

Boris is now Chinese? I thought he was Ukrainian? And before that Russian?

They should worry more about their muzzie problem and their teeth before tackling fossil fuel issues.

Figuring out a way to move away from finite materials for an energy source is the goal. Reducing the value of oil helps in more ways than just the environment.

The worldwide production of lithium and batteries is almost certainly going to be the major hurdle, barring a new energy storage chemistry. Tesla's Gigafactory can consume a giant portion of the current worldwide production of lithium and can produce enough battery packs to build a half million cars a year. The UK buys between 2.5 and 3 million vehicles a year. We're not talking about a poor nation of 35 million people here. We're talking serious numbers to completely convert over.
We're talking about building 5 more gigafactories and somehow scaling up, by several hundred percent, the entire worldwide supply chain of lithium from the mines to final product in fifteen years. Just to supply the cars the UK buys in one year.
I'm skeptical, but will be fricking amazed if they do it.
I'm also going to buy some lithium mining stock in the next few days (but not too much) for a long position in the hopes that they pull it off.

Muslims are taking over this weak soft country. Islam will reverse this ban by 2036.

Must be easier when the country is 4 hours wide.

Are you insinuating there is an infinite energy source out there?
Electric vehicles consume resources too.

How stupid
Seriously, just fricking stupid

But, by creating these laws, IMO, the automotive industry will try to comply
They could just say frick UK and focus on China and India.

Does that run off of coal or wood?
Posted on 2/5/20 at 7:03 pm to JayDeerTay84
They better get to building a bunch of windmills in that ocean between america and Britain or they will walking after creating nation wide blackouts

Awesome news! Now we can see the increase in good environmental practices to power all those electric vehicles.
Looking forward to seeing more conservation projects such as this as a result:
