No doubt.
He could avoid it by going to an island and hiring ex-special forces security team to guard him.
But he's running for president and will be in public eye with a publicly know itinerary for the foreseeable future. And Chapo's guys are ruthless and willing to die for him.

so much change in the air...it would be interesting to see El Chapo attempt to assassinate a US political figure. it could then spark the legalization of drugs and destruction of these cartels that exist largely because of the US.

If they went all out, not really. Trump could hire all the ex-special forces he wants, but he would never be able to match the ruthlessness of Chapo. Chapo would kidnap one of Trump's drivers' or staff members' family and torture them until they agree to arrange access to Trump.
Chapo won't do it because it would piss off the US government too much and bring even more heat on him, but blowhard US billionaire vs head of major mexican drug cartel wouldn't be much of a fight.

El Chapo can and could easily do it. He gives no fricks. He'd welcome an American response. It would legitimize him as a force.
If I was Donald, I'd be very nervous right now. El Chapo could turn Donald's bodyguards against him by simply offering them more money and threatening their families with death thru kidnappings, etc.

the problem with chapping El Chapo is that Trump doesn't have Secret Service level protection. Chapo can send in some assassin to take him out, rifle shot from far away. Dude doesn't even have to sacrifice himself.

trump has too many wives, ex-wives, children, etc. who are busy globe-trotting and easy targets.
he should really reconsider just how violent of a person he's picked a fight with. i see unpleasantness in trump's future for him or someone close to him.
