Now requiring face covers or masks. No exceptions.

No front-seat passengers.

Uber X can have a maximum of 3 passengers, allowed only in backseat.

Per Uber email I received.

Maybe it’s for the safety of their drivers

Sounds like it's for the driver's health, not yours

Sounds like they are trying to protect their driver

Seems like this kind of smacks in the face of their "drivers are independent contractors" argument.

Their drivers can work or not work anytime they want. They can refuse any request for rides. Why not just provide "best practices" guidance to the drivers and leave it up to the individual drivers to do their own, individual, risk assessment?

Didn’t they read the news? Corona is spread through eyeballs like Superman’s lasers.

Why is wearing a mask so hard for some of you to do? It's the base minimum of trying to protect everyone from the spread of CV19 and takes almost no effort to do. Some of you are acting like it's some huge affront to your freedom. Do you have hissy fits over "no shirt, no shoes, no service" policies too?

I don’t necessarily disagree with it. I think I would rather strangers getting in my car to wear a mask.

How about the bed bugs and scabies left in the cabs by passengers? Are they going to come up with a faggy, responsible solution to that too?

It's not hard to do. I just choose not to do it. My body. My choice. Sounds familiar?

OT is really big on "your company, your rules" so you'd think that would be the typical reply here, but it isn't.

That hypocrisy tho!

Not only that, but so many people on here still don't seem to realize that wearing a mask is meant to protect others, not yourself.

why is it that big of a deal to you?

you're being allowed to use the service with a mild inconvenience......whats the big deal?

“Muh muh my freedoms!”

“Damn Nazis”

“‘Merica!”

Do you even need to ask why some of these folks have responded the way they have?

Don’t try and use logic about how wearing a mask will offer some protection (and some is still better than none) against you unknowingly spreading it to others. They are past that and have moved on to acting like something that may help others is too much of an inconvenience to them.

As soon as those in favor acknowledge that without eye protection and a properly fitted N-95 mask there is no scientific benefit and update the guidelines accordingly I will consider following your silly suggestions.

Until then just realize the science isn’t on your side of this argument and that you are just trying to virtue signal and make yourself feel better about the risks associated with this virus.
