Why is wearing a mask so hard for some of you to do?

It's not hard to do. I just choose not to do it. My body. My choice. Sounds familiar?

That's actually an interesting point. It is a certain amount of control that Uber is exercising over the drivers. I wonder if the IRS is going to get involved in this.

No, it really isn't an interesting point. The drivers are required to provide a certain level of cleanliness in a car to drive for the company.

Fine with me. I want the drivers to wear a mask and I don't mind wearing one if I'm in an Uber again.

I had to wear a mask to a doc's office today. Put it on before going in. Took it off when I was out the front door. It wasn't a big deal.

I don't blame at all.

All their drivers are independent contractors which subject Uber to lawsuits against them for unsafe working conditions.

Welfare pirate king looking for a handout. Do businesses that require shirts and shoes provide those?

As a person who has defended hundreds of businesses in employment tax examinations, as well as tax court, it is one more factor of control they are exercising over the drivers. It's a gray area of law. So, it is interesting, at least to me.

It’s not a big deal if it’s just for Covid 19 amid this pandemic. I think a lot of people are concerned that these mask requirements will be permanent.

Snowflake. Lemming. Pussy. Make a stand like a man and this crap will change. As long as we have pussies like you, we will continue to follow the rest of the lemmings off the cliff.

Seems like this kind of smacks in the face of their "drivers are independent contractors" argument.

Their drivers can work or not work anytime they want. They can refuse any request for rides. Why not just provide "best practices" guidance to the drivers and leave it up to the individual drivers to do their own, individual, risk assessment?

Same reason why any private contractor has to adhere to any PPE or other safety guidelines set by their employer/state regulation
