Again....the masks used in these situations is to protect others getting it from you. Yes....it doesn’t offer 100% protection....but it can offer some.
So if the Uber driver wears one it helps you out if they have it and don’t realize it yet.
If you wear one it helps the Uber driver out if you have it and don’t realize it yet.

I wear a properly-fitted N95 at work when working around outside vendors and people I don't know. As for eye protection, I think it's you that's being a bit silly in that regard. Someone would need to straight-up sneeze in your face for you to take in the viral load necessary for an infection to take hold.

oh bullshite. I have N95 masks from a wood finishing project last summer. I didn't wear a mask to protect the door I was sanding from myself. Sick and tired of the guilt game going on during this - if you're scared of the world, lock yourself in your house and stay there. The rest of us need to get on with living life.

1)the purpose is to contain people who might not realize they are sick from spreading.
2)in this case, there are meta studies showing there is little functional difference between N95 and surgical for protection purposes.
If you are in a situation where a n95 would have made the difference, you’ll probably end up inoculating yourself some other way, such as when you take it off.

Their drivers can work or not work anytime they want. They can refuse any request for rides. Why not just provide "best practices" guidance to the drivers and leave it up to the individual drivers to do their own, individual, risk assessment?
Because if left up to their own, there will be one driver that sues Uber because they contracted the virus

That's actually an interesting point. It is a certain amount of control that Uber is exercising over the drivers. I wonder if the IRS is going to get involved in this.
