It’s on Aster St. I don’t think news has reported it yet.

While the “leadership” in this city are trying to decide whether to give some scumbag, gun wielding felon’s family $5M or $2.5M for getting shot while resisting arrest, this guy gets shot to death at noon on a Friday and his family will probably get an invoice from the coroner.
What kinda fool would downvote this statement? Nevermind, I have a pretty good idea.

Nah. I grew up several blocks from there and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Asians back there. I know there’s quite of few of them in that neighborhood where Belaire is

It's mostly poorer working class people and Hispanics now.

Sherwood isn’t NBR & you clearly weren’t here beforehand so you’re out of your depth.
Yes I know Sherwood is not in NBR - but NBR flooded and a lot of those houses were not rebuilt or were sold - where did those people move to? I would take a big wild guess that a lot of people ‘upgraded’ and moved to Sherwood (because I actually know a few families that did that).
How am I out of my depth? I’ve lived here for 15 years now and worked with plenty of people who were life long Baton Rougeians - one says he had to sell his house in Monticello in the late 80s because the crime was getting bad then, and another coworker of mine was relieved her husband died so she could sell her house in Stevendale in the early 90s because that wasn’t too great either
What housing was put up for the Katrina evacuees? Landlords and property owners are required by law to have section 8 housing if their properties are not considered ‘luxury’ and if they own so many units. So regardless of Katrina - whatever ‘housing’ your speaking of would have probably been section 8 anyway. And I had plenty of friends that lived off of boulevard de province while in college pre-Katrina and it was pretty crappy then

Looks like the robber shot the owner and someone saw the robber exiting the store and shot him dead. Then that guy ran away. Not sure if he's been caught and/or charged.
Two identified in Sherwood Forrest shooting.

This is such a bizarre story. The third guy kills the robber then flees?

Agree it's bizarre. Maybe he was a felon and shouldn't have had a gun in possession. Who knows?

Might this explain why so many adverts for new complexes describe then as "luxury" apartments? What makes them luxury?
Then again I'd like to see some background on this "law". Section 8 required for tax breaks or certain types of bank loans?

Wouldn't have anything to do with BR if it wasn't for the doctors.
