To each their own, but Vegas, to me, is just manufactured “fun”. It’s more theme park than historic big city. Everything just feels fake.

I guess it also could be that I grew up close enough to New Orleans. So drinking, gambling, good restaurants, and general sleaze (albeit much dirtier and far less opulent than Vegas) was not really a novelty.

Manhattan is awesome. I've never been to the other boroughs, though.

I have to go to Vegas this week and I can’t wait to leave before I even get there. Food is about the only thing there for me

Im in mexico city right now. No bums and nobody shitting on the sidewalk. Its insane how the US allows the lowest common denominator take over and destroy our cities.

Haha. So the weather in Vegas is nice? Vegas isn’t overpriced? This is the problem with people these days. Can’t understand a different perspective. Maybe people are different. Maybe someone likes to gamble. Maybe someone like Broadway plays. Who knows?

That’s why Nola is better than ny and Vegas.

All the scum from South and Central America was shipped to the US border. Some countries were smart enough to empty their prisons.

I couldn’t live and work there but this is an understatement of cosmic proportions. It’s the greatest city I’ve ever visited and absolutely loved it back in 2009.

Again, I never, EVER want to live like that, but visiting was an absolute blast.

People talk a lot of ish on here about NOLA, but to me , ive always thought that Vegas and NOLA were polar opposites.. both are known as ‘party towns’, but in Vegas it’s all about dressing to the nines, ‘seeing and being seen’, paying an $80 cover charge to get into a bar, rubbing shoulders with high rollers, hitting up the trendiest clubs et al… whereas in NOLA, no one cares (for the most part) who you are, you can go out in shorts and a muscle shirt if you want, most bars dont have a cover, in many cases you can get s***faced drunk (if that’s ur thing) for under $30, and instead of ‘trendy’ bars, you can party and drink in establishments that in many cases have bene around since the 1800s…. New Orleans ftw any day of the week .

I am biased but Nola has a charm these cities do not possess.

And it’s cheaper. Much cheaper to eat and drink.

If none of them had crime I’d still pic Nola all day every day.

Depends on where in the US you go. But a lot of these countries had somewhere to send their shitstains, so their streets will look better. We took those bottom feeders and US taxpayers are housing and feeding them for now.

These are people who have rarely left their home state sans the cruise ship trip every five years. I’m in NYC a few times a year. It’s always been one of the greatest cities in the world. It’s my personal favorite, and I’ve always felt safer there than in many parts of Baton Rouge or NOLA.

I don't think most people realize just how large NYC is. You could multiply the population of New Orleans by 10, and that would just be 1 borough.

I had an opportunity to move to NYC to live.

Some days I’d be thrilled at the prospect. Other days I’d be terrified.

It’s facts like these that scare me.

Like agoraphobia almost.

Like … how do you meet people connect with people make friends do anything when you are just …….. in an inconceivably large collection of people like that?

Like nobody gives a frick about you or what you’re doing.

Everyone you pass on the street will never pass you again.

It’s actually unsettling to think about.
