That may be true, but if I'm going to a "city", I'd rather go to Vegas

Haha. So the weather in Vegas is nice? Vegas isn’t overpriced?

This is the problem with people these days. Can’t understand a different perspective.

Maybe people are different. Maybe someone likes to gamble. Maybe someone like Broadway plays. Who knows?

Maybe, but NYC just isn't my thing. I stand by my assessment that Vegas offers everything NYC does, and more.

NYC is way better, cleaner and safer than in the 70s. If you want to talk about a real shitehole it was the definition.

You hung out and did fun things in “Little Dominica”? 181st Street is up by the George Washington Bridge, past Harlem and far away from what most here would consider a part of the city that a visitor would go to.
they had good weed there

Was in NYC for Thanksgiving and it was the best. Wanted to move back to the east coast

All they hype of the city being a shitehole or dangerous was just that

And you couldn’t find a “few fun things to do”? That says more about you than NYC

wtf are you talking about?

I never said there weren’t fun things to do anymore but that it’s become a shithole

What does finding interesting things to do have to do with getting shot on the train during a morning commute?

Ive been twice in the past couple of years. the first time, although i had a good time, i found myself thinking "damn, this place really is a shithole" most of the time.

went this summer and didn't see anything bad/shithole-like and found myself wishing i had moved there right after college.

NYC was a cesspool in the 70's and 80's. Rudy cleaned it up and by the 2000's it had a very low crime rate for such a large city. Not only that but it was massively cleaned up and no longer looked like a dump.

Democrats took back control and here we are with 1970's shitty NYC again.

NYC is still pretty safe, at least from a getting murdered standpoint

if i moved to new york tomorrow, it would be the safest city i've lived in as an adult by a very, very significant margin

why are people so adamant that nyc, specifically, is in some unprecedented downward spiral of crime? was just there in december and it was nice. rather get shot there than shreveport
