That is a pretty dumb statement. I mean it is a total generalization.

Just today alone, on I-10 and I-12 in Baton Rouge, I saw three separate incidents where some dickwad but in right in front of a truck and damn near caused a wreck. Three dick wads. Truckers not at fault.

So, there are some bad truckers out there but a lot more bad non-truckers.

Had a high school friend whose dad was once a truck driver. The dad told me he was driving in the Carolinas when a car passed him then slowed down in front. He said he pulled along side of the car then pulled into the right lane and drove the car over a cliff. He almost seemed amused.

I don't screw with truck drivers.

I know a lot of newer trucks have cameras in them. They will bust their asses if they lift the wrong butt cheek to let out a fart and they are limited in speed. Like every profession there are some arse hats, but there are also good truckers out there.

Lots of evidence out there daily to support it.

There is an implied "in general" on this particular blanket statement. I do not know every trucker personally so a generalization is the best I can do.

Let me explain some of this from a former trucker. The governor is the real culprit here. Nearly every truck out there is governed within 2or 3 mph of each other. If the truck being overtaken by another truck lifts for even a few seconds it can take miles to recover their speed. Two trucks set to 68, but with a difference in payload, can jockey for miles. Add in hills and cars that refuse to be behind a truck, and you get what you’ve got. Trust me, we don’t want to hold you up. But, we don’t want to be in and out of cruise control for miles either. Lastly, this is a drivers pet peeve. You are traveling 68 and try to pass a car going 65. The car says, no, I don’t think so and speeds up. You fall back in the right lane and do the dance again 5 miles down the road.

P.s. remember, some guys are drivers because they can’t/won’t work with anyone else.

I just dont like the drivers that pull out in front of you ignoring you are there even though your traveling at them at 55 mph causing you to brake hard or swerve to miss them.

I have a truck stop down the road from me.

Sure fooled the hell out of me. Usually when I want to avoid doing something, I don't do it. I surely don't do it at every opportunity.

So how does it go? Is it like yeah I see you coming but let me pass this other truck right quick OH frick THE GOVERNOR SORRYYYYYY

Stacking evidence for my worst people claim.

They are good people outside the truck but they definitely act like the own the road. I kind of get it as it’s their place of work.

Just wish they would stay in the right lane.

They're baws to the core, but they do drive with a sense of entitlement.

I try not to get to frustrated with them because they're performing a very necessary job.

And yes, they should keep their arse in the right lane.

I hold the professional truckers in high regard. It's the local yokel that drives irresponsibly.

You must have missed the part about getting out of the gas and losing ALL momentum. You don’t think that truck dropping back to 50 mph for two miles ain’t gonna back up traffic? We “whip out” to keep momentum because we know pricks like you will cut us off if we put on an early blinker.

When they are running side by side for more than a minute or so with no sign of actual passing, I either shoulder pass or use entry lanes. My car is fast enough to get it done before they can swerve onto the shoulder to try and run me off the road.

The interstate was made for commerce. Trucks belong there. Cars are houseguests.

As long as I'm paying gas taxes I'm an owner, not a guest.

The nation's economy depends on trucking, but that method of shipment comes with a price. Engineers estimate that a fully loaded truck--a five-axle rig weighing 80,000 pounds, the interstate maximum--causes more damage to a highway than 5,000 cars. Some road planners say that the toll is even higher, that it would take close to 10,000 cars to equal the damage caused by one heavy truck. When the trucks are overloaded, as quite a few of them are, the damage is exponentially worse. Increasing a truck's weight to 90,000 pounds results in a 42 percent increase in road wear. Pavement designed to last 20 years wears out in seven.

Truckers are like nurses, unintelligent but extremely self important.

Why do you have to make that my problem?

You don’t think that truck dropping back to 50 mph for two miles ain’t gonna back up traffic?

If he stays in the right lane the impact on traffic will be far less than when he rides next to another truck for 5 miles.

And if the truck in front is going 50 then pass it. Ain't nobody complaining about that. Whip that bitch over and make a clean pass. Don't whip it over to avoid slowing down 2mph while I pass first.

The truth is starting to come out now. You drive like a prick on the assumption that the other guy is going to be a prick. A preemptive prick move. You can't wait 10 seconds for me to pass, so you're going to make me wait 5 minutes and let a dozen other cars stack up behind me.

I'll thank a veteran when they want to be thanked, and I thank service workers when they provide good service or if they're friendly, and I'll thank cops and whatnot for that they do. But there's no fricking way that I'm going to thank people like farmers and truckers for just doing their jobs and earning a paycheck. That's laughable and honestly disrespectful to all the other professions involved. Why am I not thanking the engineers who designed the farm equipment and trucks? The workers who built them? The chemists who developed the fertilizers and pesticides? My fellow taxpayers who subsidized the farms?

If truckers are this full of themselves then it's no wonder they're such pricks.
