Play roulette all the time. When I gamble, I'll stop by one and get 100 in color, usually one dollar. I have favorite numbers like birthdays and such and always split 0/00. Have won quite a few times. CSB. Went to Paragon with wife (no pics) and she went one way me the other. Bounced around playing slots, blackjack and finally settled in at the roulette table. Got a color and slowly started to build a pile. After about an hour I had all of my color chips, and they started paying in regular chips. Amassed a lot of green chips and here comes my wife. Give her a couple of hundred I rat holed in my pocket and sent her on her way. Continuing I get the urge to split 0/00 with a 25-dollar chip. Bam, hit it, $450.00 going out, well 425.00 minus my bet. Hung around winning some, losing some but still way up and they are still paying me in regular chips. Get the urge again split 0/00 with another 25, hit it again.

Wheel of fortune gold spin. If you’re playing anything else, you should just stay home.

I found a non 000 table w $10 limit at Shoe. Me and my crew played corners and drank free for hours……. Good time.

Hey, they also cut back on Blackjack. It is now 6 to 5 on some lower limits instead of 3 to 2.
Explain what this means to a non-gambler.

I would love to hear some of you voters explain to me what "strategy" you use to improve your odds of winning at Roulette.
I had a room mate that came up with an infallible strategy. His idea was to watch the roulette wheel until it hit one color 6 times in a row. Then he was going to bet the farm on the opposite color. Because "No way can it hit the same color 7 times in a row!". I tried to reason with him but he was certain of his strategy. We parted ways shortly after so I don't know just how much he lost. But if he'd won I definitely would have heard that.

In blackjack, the payout for a natural blackjack (an Ace and a 10-value card) can vary, and the difference between a 3:2 payout and a 6:5 payout is significant for players.
3:2 Payout
- **Example**: If you bet $10 and get a blackjack, you win $15 and keep your original bet of $10.
- **Calculation**: Your original bet ($10) multiplied by 1.5 (3/2) equals $15.
- **Advantage**: This payout is more favorable to players because it offers a higher return on a winning blackjack.
6:5 Payout
- **Example**: If you bet $10 and get a blackjack, you win $12 and keep your original bet of $10.
- **Calculation**: Your original bet ($10) multiplied by 1.2 (6/5) equals $12.
- **Disadvantage**: This payout is less favorable to players because it offers a lower return on a winning blackjack.
Impact on House Edge
- **3:2 Payout**: The house edge is lower, making it a better option for players. The typical house edge in a 3:2 game is around 0.5% with basic strategy.
- **6:5 Payout**: The house edge is higher, increasing the casino's advantage. The house edge can be around 1.5% or more, depending on other rules of the game.
Why It Matters
- **Player's Perspective**: A 3:2 payout is always preferable because it maximizes your winnings for a blackjack.
- **Casino's Perspective**: Dirty rotten casinos now offer 6:5 payouts to increase their profit margins, at your expense.
In summary, F 'Em!

Just think of your $200 gambling as a bar tab with some entertainment if they’re serving drinks

What gets me is the amount of people who will sit there and play slot machines. Other than getting really lucking and hitting something big, the only way to win is to cash out the second you go above the amount you put in.
Although the odds of winning are better, there's no more strategy to playing roulette than there is to pull the slot machine arm.
It just a more "fun" game. Where everyone is at the sucker table together.

I thought it was just Vegas but it is everywhere. Even the casinos in Mississippi and Louisiana are following suit and doing the 6 to 5 crap.
I used to deal at L'Auberge in Baton Rouge, and I'm still on the table games facebook group. They kept 3:2 on all of their tables for long time when many started going to 6:5. Welp, management just announced they are switching some of the tables to 6:5. My guess is corporate is making them do it.
I would say never play these stupid games, but I would be a hypocrite if I did

Only game that you can truly beat is blackjack if you count cards, but casinos will figure you out quickly and kick you out. Other than that, baccarat is the best game since you're only picking two possible outcomes. Where the house gets you is making the minimum bets super high and 5% commission on banker wins

It's crazy. Casinos make more money off them than table games.

Does that work on an expense report?

haha yep, same. when i was about 26 i lost $800 in a casino playing blackjack (i was single with a good job at the time, so i could financially take the loss without problem) and it burned me so bad emotionally that i literally havent gambled a single dollar in a casino since.
I just turned 26 a couple months ago and was in Vegas for the first time, had a very similar experience.
The lady and I got upgraded to a suite at Bellagio and decided to ball out that night, I got destroyed for about a paycheck

That’s how they get you, isn’t it?

Sorry for the long post - first since Vegas after I needed some days to regroup from that devastation.
I find roulette as a very fun game but in 1 capacity - A place for 1-2 big bets on a game that is simple and very fast. Easy & fast double or nothing.
First thing I did at the Encore was $1,000 on Red (high school colors). Red 7 Hit - LFG.
Then I take the $1,000 and went straight to craps thinking the #7 was a sign for LSU. I lost the $1,000 in a matter of minutes because I spread the board hoping for a hot roll.
Craps is by far my favorite game but can giveth & taketh your cash in big batches. There is nothing better than a hot craps table and all the players going wild (and when played correctly can compound fast).
In my experience, Blackjack is a painful and slow bleeding death without any natural alignment or camaraderie with other players (definitely exceptions but always feel the - great you got blackjack and decreased my chances at an Ace you arse, etc.). I don’t even want to get into the LSU bets made…..
But - I go into every casino thinking that (1) I want to make money here and be smart (2) Im likely going to leave with $0 regardless of how smart so at least have a good time (which is why craps is my game).
Lastly, I do not recommend betting on LSU as a passionate LSU fan. I first realized this in 2010 vs UNC in ATL (spread was LSU -7 and we were up 30-7 at half and blew that lead and almost lost the game). I would’ve paid anything to ensure LSU won the game so why would making an extra buck even matter - Vegas reminded me of that again.

People who constantly freak out about what others are doing on a blackjack table are so fricking annoying.
If the dealer is showing a 5 and the player hits on a 12, the odds of the player getting a 10 and the dealer getting a 6 are exactly equal to the odds of the player getting a 6 and the dealer getting a 10.
Yeah, it sucks when you see someone’s bad strategy go against you, since you can pretty easily replay the cards in your head. But that person is just as likely to save you as they are to frick you over.

I enjoyed reading your recent gaming comments but it seems that you are making the assertion that the game craps in a casino can be "played correctly" without providing any objective evidence. Please explain.
