and every table that was available was packed to the gills.

Vegas has curated another way to frick the player by adding an extra 0 to the board.

Math skills are important and you should only gamble and play lottery money with money that you are comfortable setting on fire.

Hey, they also cut back on Blackjack. It is now 6 to 5 on some lower limits instead of 3 to 2.

I thought it was just Vegas but it is everywhere. Even the casinos in Mississippi and Louisiana are following suit and doing the 6 to 5 crap.

Well now you know why they call the Roulette table the One-armed bandit.

Roulette is a sucker bet. There is no strategy you can employ to get the odds of winning closer in your favor like you can in Craps for example. Only idiots play Roulette.

Last time I went to a casino I noticed that they started to shuffle after every hand on blackjack. Greedy bastards

I don't get how people do it. The few times I've done it I've had fun but the next week or two I'm sick about the $20 I pissed away. The most I've lost was $100 and I was miserable about it. It was money I could afford to lose but I just felt like a degen after and kept thinking how all the things I could have spent that on instead of gambling.

haha yep, same. when i was about 26 i lost $800 in a casino playing blackjack (i was single with a good job at the time, so i could financially take the loss without problem) and it burned me so bad emotionally that i literally havent gambled a single dollar in a casino since.

lol

seriously though, i firmly believe that there is a group of people, of which i am part, that are like whatever the opposite of a gambling addict is. an addict always feels like he's one big moment from taking the house for a ride and getting it all back and making the casino pay. i'm the opposite - i feel like a complete sucker and rube if i lose anythign to a casino. it's a visceral reaction, more than if i just accidentally lost $100 out the car window or something. i think it's because you go into a casino KNOWING that the place is designed to ruthlessly and callously take your money, and then you do it anyways, and it's like...how could i be so fricking stupid.

i totally get that there is a big clump of people who just few it as fun and can do it knowing that they'll probably take a loss but can still enjoy it. more power to them, for sure. i'm not passing any kind of moral judgment on that at all. i just mentally cant handle it.

Had heard that some places had gone to this, but haven't seen it. That's insane and would be a bridge too far for me. Traditionally, the European casinos used a single zero.

Yup. The Hard Rock and Coconut Creek casinos down here are 6 to 5.
