Drugs aren't part of the TSA mission. That said, I always put my stash in my carry on because TSA checked luggage inspectors will likely steal my shite if they find it.
If you're traveling from a legal state to an illegal state, you've got nothing to worry about unless you're packing large quantities. If TSA wants to be an a-hole and flag down a local cop to deal with your weed, they can't arrest you because it's legal there. They can make you throw it away.
If you're departing a state without recreational, definitely keep amounts to a minimum, like an OZ or less. TSA may call over a cop and, technically, they could arrest you. Fortunately, airport cops usually have better things to do with their time than deal with you and your quarter ounce of bud.
The only thing I ever worry about is how some airports will randomly have drug dogs roaming around the ticketing gate. ATL does this relatively often and it's the only time I ever get worried about getting caught. I just try to walk the other way until the coast is clear.

I accidentally flew from Tahoe to Houston back in April with about $200 worth of various edibles with no issue. Perhaps it was my unaware calm demeanor but I found them unpacking the suitcase when I got home and did some internal fist pumping.

Only take small amounts. Keep it in your carry-on. Personally, I’d skip the flower because of its smell. Edibles and carts are a breeze, just make sure the cart is separated from the battery. And if you’re really paranoid, take the edibles out of its original packaging and put them in something else.
TSA isn’t looking for drugs. I flew home with tincture once and since it’s liquid I took it out of the bag and into the bin. TSA guy picked it up to help me gather all my stuff and kind of looked at it then handed it to me. Maybe he didn’t look at it that closely but it had a big pot leaf on it.

Airport dogs are trained for explosives, not weed.
I travel with weed everytime I fly, and have been in line when they walked the dogs through 4-5 time. No problem at all.
Mailing weed across state lines via USPS is a felony and never recommended.
Always carry it in your carry on and you'll be fine. They do use drug dogs on checked luggage.

Do it very often, for years, as I travel for work. Double baggy in the pockets of your jeans in your CHECKED bag. Checked luggage is xrayed for bombs/steel, not a couple buds.

My old weed guy picked up an empty box at the post office. Somebody at one of the hubs got $5k worth of edibles, carts and flower. He was sick over that for a while.

I put edibles in a zipploc bag and put the bag in my dop kit which is placed in my checked luggage. Have never encountered any problems.

The chances of getting caught these days is very low, unless you're trying to move a considerable amount that could be deemed trafficking. A couple of carts and a couple bags of edibles isn't going to land you in prison. At worst, they'll toss them in the garbage, give you a slight scare, and send you on your way. This is especially true in states where it is legal. They have much bigger fish to fry there than worrying about someone flying with a little personal use weed.
I've lost count of how many times I've done it and only once did I even come close to getting caught. And I'm not even sure I was close that time. TSA agent picked up a bottle of tincture I put in the bin, but didn't even inspect it. Just handed it to me.
