Was this before you went through security?
They had everyone lined up? 2 at a time side by side...told to not stop walking as the dog worked?
Eta... if so, those are bomb sniffing dogs. I've been through them many times and every time I was carrying.

I've had three people in different dispensaries suggest not to check my stuff, saying that it gets stolen all the time. I've flown with a LOT of stuff, they just don't care. Had a bag pulled once, guy took out the packages of gummies and tincture, paying them no mind, and finally held up a jar of caramel and said "you can't have this sir." He put all my other stuff back and I went on my way.
