Yeah, keeping your housing payments down is a terrible idea.

Agree. It frees up more money monthly for a better boat/truck/camper

Or they could do like I do and pay to store their camper in a covered facility then pull it out whenever they want it instead of taking up room in their driveway.

I think I would prefer the boating equivalent of this. Marina on Lake Norman has boats stored 3 boats high in a warehouse. Call an hour before you want to be on the water and they will have the boat gassed up, in the water, and ready to go. Biggest damn forklifts I’ve ever seen that pick up these boats.

I doubt I ever buy a boat, but if I do, I’ll do the same with it as I do with my camper, store it at the marina and have it pulled out when I want it use it.

Almost 100% of the data we have. Maybe he’s one in a million, if his name is Eric and he lives in ascension parish, I’m going to make the assumption he is not

I can see someone living this lifestyle very easily. Dude probably doesn’t have a family or is divorced and values fun things over caring about some expensive house note.

He also might not care about building wealth because he might not have anyone to leave that wealth to. As long as he’s paying the notes who cares?

I would live like this in a heartbeat if I didn’t have a family and wanted to raise my kids in good schools and live in a safe environment.

But

I drive a Ram so maybe I’m a little trashy as well!

The road to the refinery in West Memphis was lined with shacks and trailers that had caddies worth more than double the house throughout the 70’s and 80’s.

Can’t fix stupid.

Dudes probably living it pretty good up in there. frick a big arse house and being house poor.

This. Just sold the big arse house to live in a big arse double wide we already had as a rental for a while. We remodeled it back to better than brand new condition a while back. Now there's no house payment and plenty of money to work on other investments, plus do some more traveling and just living life.

We'll buy another house down the road, once we get more important goals underway.

While I understand the idea behind the post; we don't know anything about the person.

For all we know, that's his retirement home. Downsized after the kids left and bought a boat and RV. Might spend most of his time traveling around or chilling on a lake somewhere.

Not the worst way to live out your golden years.

People who sale Campers and Boats will find financing for anyone, it might be 25% but you can get a boat.

Getting a mortgage is a different story

His money- why should you give a shite how he spends it? I wish more people would take the advice from the TV show “Running Point” “If it dosen’t concern you, it shouldn’t concern you”

Then there’d be no activity on this board
