One of my neighbors has a huge RV that gets used 3 times a year but comes I handy when power is out.

Another neighbor is retired and he has a huge dually, really big tow behind camper, huge slope behind his house, and everything is basically new. I suspect he has a lot of money and buys stuff straight up.

What's wrong with living in a trailer?

Is there anything that screams “I’m horrible with money” louder than living in a trailer while also owning a $40,000 or more camper and a $40,000 or higher boat?

Honestly, I think these people have it all figured out. Why have $500,000 tied up in the place you sleep? I’m buying toys, losers.

I would say I’ll see y’all on the water, but I’ll be staring at my 40” fish finder monitor.

I'm always jealous of those baws. Always having to fix some shite on my house plus all the other shite that comes with it. Would rather be on my boat.

Kid Rock is worth 150 million & lives in a trailer.

He lives in a multimillion dollar compound in Nashville. He might have a trailer or 5 on that property, but he does not "live in a trailer".

Can’t get much boat for 40k these days

There are glorified duck boats and skiffs in the mid to upper 20’s these days.

Boat prices are still nuts.

Honestly, the only real reason I don’t live in a trailer is because they’re structurally weak. I’m not too good for a trailer.

If I had to start from scratch right now, I’d do a barndominium.

Not something that you see up here in NWA

After I bought my place in NWA I noticed there were quite a few less pickup trucks driving around than I expected. Was told it was because not many could afford them. And I guess there isn't the plant baw mentality we have in SE LA.

I was about to say, he built a 27,000 square foot copy of the White House on his gigantic property in Nashville and he grew up in a 6000 square foot house in Michigan. I don't think he was every anywhere close to living in a trailer.

Indeed. One of the craziest things about Louisiana, was the class division and most people arent more than two generations from being a dirt farmer.

Lots of folks overestimate their value and views and think they're some kind of southern nobility.

Man, I just had to put a new AC unit in my house and it makes me wish I lived in a trailer. A few window units and you are good to go. If one breaks you just go buy another.. For a lot less than when you put an AC unit in.

It seems like there is a lot less bullshite if you lived in a trailer. The ones I laugh at are those who overpaid for a house that has about 3 inches between them and their neighbors, that was built buy a contractor who did just enough to meet code and some dude lives there who sits at home on the internet all day judging people on the internet.

My experience would adjust that a bit:

quote:

More than likely a single guy who works in O&G and is a baby daddy to three with two or three different women. He rarely, if ever, sees the kids, nor does he provide for them. He’s conveniently away from home a good bit so doesn’t need a big expensive house and prefers to enjoy free time camping and fishing

Well did you inherit the boat, shack, and cheese?

I’m guessing Jody is an experienced traveler, who also keeps the freezer full of fish. He’s sacrificing a big house now so he can max out his 401k too.
