The majority of people who live in low cost housing regardless of where it is located have jobs, work every or most days, usually pretty damned hard jobs, and never commit a serious crime. As far as violent crimes it is an extremely small number of people, some who commit violent crimes repeatedly. Pretending like most residents in a trailer park or "the hood" are criminals is, at best, simply ignorant.

Someone driving a luxury car that is upside down in dept is just as big a loser to me.

Had debate with someone cut from that cloth…they were arguing to keep Hotel Maid jobs from “foreigners” to keep for themselves.

I asked why not aim for higher rung on the ladder.

Learned helplessness deeply rooted in the argument. Opportunity and get after it mindset was as far away as the moon.

The vast majority or poor people do not commit any significant crime...if you discount things like traffic tickets and the like most people regardless of their income or level of wealth do not commit any kind of significant crimes in their lives. There are about 260 million adults in the US and about 1.25 million of them are in prison or on probation currently. Thats about 5/10s of one percent of the adult population. Most of that 1.25 are responsible for multiple crimes and most have been convicted of crimes multiple times. There is some element of economics at play but there are many other factors but the one thing that is true is a very small number of people commit any sort of serious crime in their lives and many of that small number do so multiple times.

My son was born in Athens Georgia but had only lived a few years as a child in the south and lived in Europe and the Carribean for most of his childhood and in the SW and PNW for most of his young adulthood. When we all relocated back to Georgia 5 years ago (you can take the southerner out of the south but you cant take the south out of the southerner, most of us eventually return to God's country) he and I went fishing one morning and a young black man who was working at the bait shop we stopped at, his age, got to talking about deer hunting. When we got back in the truck my son said "are there black rednecks?" LOL. I assured him there most assuredly was. My son said he could understand about 1/3 of what that young man said to him...I understood him fine, we had about the same accent, but my son was amazed that black folks in the south could be just as much a redneck as white folks. I was in the same boat in Europe when we lived there....there are rednecks in Europe....LOADS of them. They are present in Asia also. It is a pretty basic human characteristic in my experience....
