Building the loop 15 years ago could’ve avoided this project

No, 10 is nearing the end of its shelf life and needs repair. . It’s a substandard highway now with too many ramps and no shoulder. Loop or no loop it had to be rebuilt.

The fact is we need this project, and we need a loop or at least a major bypass.

Just take the loop. Has that already been said approximately 20 times?

BR leadership really can't muster up enough political courage and power to condemn the like 4 blocks needed around Terrace and Delpit to do what needs to be done? What a joke. It's like 40 homes. Pay them 10x market price and bulldoze them tomorrow.

Sadly you are correct.

Just like they were 50 years ago when the plan was to link Florida/Airline/I10 down through government

I cant believe they cant just build a new bridge next to the existing bridge and connect it all the way to I-12 utilizing the Florida Blvd to Airline to I-12 corridor. 90% of Florida is existing state land covered with grass and litter they mow once a month.

You incorporate the new Amazon center, it would possibly revitalize Broadmoor/Tara, and you would have the option to extend this new Florida Blvd interstate all the way to Livingston Parish

Trying to look at the bright side, will this finally close the Washington street exit ramp for good?

BR traffic will NEVER improve unless they build another bridge or loop. I’m ok with either but it all starts at the new bridge. I can’t remember a recent time where there was little to no traffic headed east on the new bridge.

That bridge in St. Francisville is absolutely gorgeous and it benefits me when headed to our place in NELA but it is beyond infuriating and ridiculous the amount of $ that was spent on a bridge that I’ve never seen more than a half dozen folks on at any given time.

If you want to be infuriated and outraged, go look at the bridge in Grammercy. It’s much larger and grandiose than the Audubon bridge. And seems to carry even less traffic. it too would’ve been better suited as a second BR River crossing.

But you and many others want to get upset over projects that were never intended to address traffic in BR. Those were projects specific to that area- regardless of how wasteful.

The Feds should be addressing all things I10 related. It’s a federal roadway. Since state government is apparently too impotent and inept to do anything, the feds should be stepping in to address the congestion on the interstate. Hello Louisiana confessional delegation!!

The King of BR Shysters can see this debacle unfolding from his helipad on top of his new building. Gordon got outflanked.

It does seem like the Federal government would have a vested interest in easing a huge choke point on such a busy interstate.

Looks like a standard 4 lane cantilever bridge.

Obviously it’s higher than the cable stay Audubon bridge because of the shipping traffic that has to get up to Baton Rouge. But it doesn’t look overly elaborate or anything.

I do agree that it would have been better to prioritize a bridge around Plaquemine though. I would hope the new bridge that goes in that area would have a 6 lane wide deck.

I think that taking 90 through Morgan City then up to Slidell is the best bet for my MS trips now.

I10 in EBR is a plague

I'm glad I rarely drive that stretch of interstate but I'm sure it's going to cause issues on surface streets too.
