Those people are still out there.
Just like they were 50 years ago when the plan was to link Florida/Airline/I10 down through government

They live in WBR, but go to school in EBR? Why?

Are we sure they did enough studies to know how to proceed the best way?

I guess their parents want a private school and/or religious education. I few years back (not sure about today - my kids are older) there were a decent amount of WBR folks at Parkview, Episcopal, and Dunham. Not sure about Catholic High and St. Josephs.

I get a feeling they’re trying to find a way out of this construction project now that they realize how big of a boondoggle it will be. Every proposal gets worse and worse. Make a proposal so bad everyone says “you know what.. things are fine as they are now.”

There are plenty of kids who live in Ascension Parish that go to my daughter's school in BR.

Yeah that's going to be painful.
We lived off of Juban Rd when I-12 was under construction and it was a pretty shitty couple of years. Luckily my wife worked in Denham at the time so she didn't have to deal with it. Every time one of those 18 wheelers jackknifed I'd just go to a bar and have a few beers after work instead of trying to get home

Yeah.. The roads suck here, so what ever you do, please don't work on them.

Ding ding
No parochial schools beyond elementary schools in WBR. So if you want that you have to travel.

Overpasses are way too old to not do anything now. The last thing BR needs is another version of what transpired in Minneapolis.

Louisiana makes Texas look like everything is done with German precision and they still haven't finished I-35 between Dallas and Austin. Louisiana will finish this project in 2053 and one additional lane will have been added in each direction.

I-10 in Orange TX still seems to have endless construction.
It’s also been redesigned multiple times to accommodate increased traffic from the growth Texas continues to see. I understand delays if you’re growing so fast you can’t “keep up”. That’s not the case in Baton Rouge.

Too bad y'all weren't here to support kip Holden who wanted to build a loop but people biatched about taking too long or it's in my yard.
You know who’s done more to frick up a loop than the NIMBYs? The ghetto dwellers who think they’re gonna get a million dollars for their shitty inner city home and refuse to take anything less and the politicians who squabble about the route of the proposed loop.
And yes, they’re separate entities from the middle class people who oppose construction that will negatively impact their home values.

All traffic (east and westbound) may have to fit on the current westbound lanes while they widen and rebuild the foundation for the elevated eastbound lanes. Then they may have to repeat the process to rebuild the westbound section.
