Perhaps I wasn’t clear. I am referring to the south side of 1085 (the area between 1085 and I-12). The area south of I-12 (Brewster) drains to Bedico Creek, Bayou de Zaire, or the Lake itself. Hopefully that cleared up what I was trying to state.

Willow Bend Subdivision off Hwy 1085 in Madisonville is cut off currently. All areas along Hwy 1077/Hwy 1085 are having water problems due to Bedico Creek overflowing. Areal picture

That area will only get worse in the future as they continue to build new subdivisions between Madisonville and Ponchatoula.

I swear 22 that way is a fricking DSLD paradise. They clearing more land right now as well. Parish and DSLD are equally responsible for this mess.

Before folks who are high and dry figure "it's not my problem" buyer-beware does not apply anymore.
All taxpayers pay for poor decision-making by individuals these days.
Federal flood insurance is cheap and FEMA bailouts are to be had, zoning variances are granted by local government bodies that are not on the hook when the inevitable happens. Quite the opposite, the local govs. probably make money on the federal funds that come their way for the clean up.

What about north of Goodbee near Jim Willie Road? Bedico Creek (or what's left of it) runs right through my property.

I'm out of town, but I think that area is fine. One of the houses on the polo field that flooded in 2016 was flooded again.

Yeah, I knew him. I could be wrong but I think Biff owned the polo field. Pig owned the land between there and the store.

You may be right. I used to skip school at LSU to go eat at Pig's joint near Cranky Corners. Did you know Johnny Morgan? He and my cousin were running buddies back in the day. I'm kin to the Core family in that area. You may know some of them.

Didn't know Johnny, met him once.
Played ball with Willie, and Ray is one of the best men I know.
