Heard radio warnings for flash flood warning and tornado

Fox 8 saying 7”
My yard in Mandeville was almost totally underwater for about an hour
They were saying 2 inches earlier in Covington when my rain gauge showed 5 inches. The ditch pond behind my house hasn't been this full since the flood in 2016.
Get some coffee Fat man...
you may be a busy man.
I'm afraid some houses could take on some water tonight.

Fox 8 Dave Bernard saying Bedico and Goodbe are in path of possible rotation. Lees Landing as well. Pissing down rain in SW Hammond windy no hail.
Madisonville looks to be ok rotation is moving away from there.

David Bernard thinks they have 2 going now. Bedico and Lees landing.
Literally, just drove through there. Rain was bad, wind wasnt bad at all. Obviously that can change in seconds though.
Home now, not going anywhere for the rest of the noght.

Yup, just from over by PHS to madisonville. Wasnt to bad, could only do about 45 and slower.
Hwy 22 is doing pretty good, just a couple spots.
Selser Creek that crosses 22 close to Hoover road backs up when we get real bad storms and now my yard is under. Had to move my truck and car to higher ground.

We are at 7” according to my rain gauge, had to dump it Bc it was full. It’s still storming near 12/55

No reports of damage in Madisonville per the mayor.
Haven’t seen my yard under this much water since the floods. More rain coming. Looks like it’s going to be a rain train between Mandeville and Ponchatoula.

My in laws live right by the interstate and this goes within 300 yards of theor house. Luckily, the parish dug it out a long long time ago and its like 30 ft deep.
But its pretty crazy how it goes from 6" of water to full almost instantly.

it runs about the same distance behind my house. I am on the east side but the bad part is that my property has a canal through it that drains into selsers so when it gets full it all backs up on me. Once every couple of years it does this.

I don't know where we are on rainfall currently in terms of a total. There is just waaaaaay too much lightning for me to check it. I will say this...the ditch pond, which is 2.8 acres and 6 ft deep (at the most) under normal conditions, is now about 4 acres in size and 10-11 feet deep. It is more full now than in 2016. I hope nobody floods, but if this pond is any indicator, Covington is going to have flooding issues tonight.

This might be the most torrential rain we’ve had since 2016
Some roads are flooded

frick! And now the power is back out.
I've got a couple of big fat pork chops in the oven that are going to be all fricked up. Maybe ...
They smell good, but I've only got the internal temp to 120°.
