Yes you can switch your party affiliation as often as you like. I would expect there is a deadline prior to the primary itself to do that.

Looks like a middle school pic they are using which I might add is something the dishonest media does when trying to soften the image of someone

Why would it be sus? There are plenty of registered republicans who can’t stand Trump. And I’m struggling to understand why the stated party affiliation of someone that unhinged would even matter….its not like he would have been adhering to the mainstream party talking points whether he was a democrat or republican.
