I don't think Atlanta or Dallas should be on anyone's "dream cities" list, but they're pretty good places to live.
NYC, SF, Denver, Chicago, etc. are all cool, but I don't want to live there. I especially don't want to be dirt poor in those places, which you would be with those incomes.

That 31k in San Diego so you'd have to live on 62k. I couldn't do that anywhere much less one of the most expensive areas of the country

Sydney.....nice place, but Melbourne IMHO is better.

Buenos Aires........BA is real nice, but if you want the big city but more laid back, head across the river to Montevideo, Uruguay
