and pay for 8 individual orders. frick those people. frick them in their stupid "oh, janet only gave me $7.25 but her sandwich is $7.39... what do i do?!?" faces

That does suck. On the occasions that I participate in these mass orderings I usually just pay for it all myself.

Is this worse than if all 8 people were just in line in front of you?

Yes, of course

if there are 8 people in front of me, I'm prepared for the wait

the 1 person with 8 orders is a deceptive little shite

I hate that guy/gal. They never relay the order right to the $15/hr min wage employee and always get my sandwich fricked up.

How does it feel to be a Girl Friday?

I'd tell them all to frick off and get their own lunch. Seriously.

I love it when it's obviously the poor intern's first day. "Did Greg want black or green olives? GOD!"

But seriously frick those people.

I refused to pick up food for other people a long time ago. Inevitably something is wrong with their order and they want to bitch about it rather than just shutting the frick up and being thankful someone was nice enough to pick up food for them.

I quickly learned this when I was the new guy at my first job. The boss always wanted someone to pick him up something and he always said "put it on my tab" and it was your responsibility to keep track of how much he owed you. frick those people.

Don't tell anyone you are going to lunch and just go.

Well when you're harvesting soybeans you don't exactly want everyone to stop for an hour to eat lunch.

I fortunately haven't had this happen to me since highschool. I remember having to tip like $10 on a $15 order to make a decent tip because some dick bag figured out the cost of what they ordered "perfectly" using the menu and refused to add money to the pot.

On the rare occasion I've picked up food for several coworkers, I always ask for a dollar more than their total. I've never had anyone refuse, but if they did, they'd be sent to pick up their own lunch

ETA: Or at least I would round their total to the next dollar.

I will pick up lunch for people if:

They call ahead.
They pay cash and don't expect change.
They buy my lunch.
Sex.
They pay with a card but have an extremely simple order.

I would never do it in a a fast food place either.

I have started getting lunch at the grocery store. So much faster and better options.
