Got a sub to catch?
Nah not yet...

I would hope that death came quickly rather than know I was going to die in 48 hours. Shite. No way would I do this. Plus, the Titanic is a grave site. Just NO!

why didn't the titanic itself implode as it sank?

I think I remember reading survivors could actually hear it imploding on the way down several minutes after it went under

I'm sure they could. It would be pretty violent. It takes a lot of force to collapse ship framing which is naturally pretty sturdy and water carries the sound very well.

Or having some kind of malfunction at the bottom to where they were able to inflate it and make it back to the surface only to be unable to open the hatch, with it being bolted shut from the outside, and thus run out of oxygen.
Imagine it made it to surface, all locked in. Its hard to see in water then they see a big arse ship headed towards them. Knowing not much oxygen left they would have to root for a direct hit to hopefully open it up like PT-109 so to speak. Its all far fetched but I’d hope that ship hit me and have .0000000000000001% chance vs die of no oxygen.
Or imagine it floats with ocean currents and washes up on NK beach within 5 days. No one knows you are there.
This whole thing is a disaster. And since its international waters the US can’t regulate safety for rogue companies to do unsafe things like this. With that much money the riders could have hired specialists to investigate the safety aspect of this company and sub. I understand scientists taking risks but paid riders is just plain dumb.

Entire sub driven by an Xbox controller. What a horrible way to go

Simple blow off ballast weights, a way to open from the inside, and a common $1200 EPRIB would make this 1000000000x safer and not be expensive at all, and homeboy didn't even spring for that.
How the frick do these idiots get funding for this stuff???

Idk why people are acting like this is some crazy, whacko thing….
It’s honestly one of the more rational design features

Maybe becoming a dad has neutered me but just thinking about what would be going through Shahzada's mind while he looks at his son... it's legitimately upsetting to even consider.
If it imploded, the only thing going through his mind is his a-hole. If it's intact and just lost... well...

EPRIB
even if it could be detected at -12,500' all it would be useful for is to let everyone know where they died

Upon hearing this news
I had go back and listen to "One of our Submarines" by Thomas Dolby.

- a means to get boyuant
- a means to get outside of the craft
- a means to signal for help
All of those would be very simple to add in the grand scope of what they are attempting to do.
- ballast weights that you can drop to get buoyant and headed upwards
- a hatch
- an eprib

It had ballast weights that could be dropped to start an ascent.
Did not have a way to open the hatch without outside assistance.
Never mentioned EPIRB or any kind of locator beacon.
