A little ironic they are going down in the same way.

The operating company knows they’re all dead or dying. Can’t say that though. Need to pump sunshine and rainbows on the World stage.

Couldn’t they ping (bang metal) on inside to alert location?

Is anyone down there to listen yet?

And if they were, they wouldn't be able to do anything about it except ping back at them. I doubt the USN has anything to rescue at that depth, and I SERIOUSLY doubt if they did they'd be able to get it there in time to help.

They can send whatever they used to blow up that Russian pipeline.

They have the Curv1 but can only lift 4,000 lbs or so but can dive much deeper than the Titanic.

They probably do, but are they willing to make that public knowledge for this? I doubt it.

What are the chances you're the first to say this 20 pages in?

The NIGHTMARE scenario is to not find them and have some current carry them ashore in Jersey or some other highly populated area in a Week or so.

That thing is pretty cool.

Seems like it isnt automatically deployed on a ship though.

quote:

CURV-is capable of being deployed on a USNS T-ATF

I dont know if it can only be deployed on a T-ATF or what, the navy's website doesnt make that clear.

Here are the USN T-ATF:

quote:

USNS Catawba (T-ATF 168) - Operates in the area of Arabian Gulf
USNS Sioux (T-ATF 171) - Operates in the area of Pacific
USNS Apache (T-ATF 172) - Operates in the Atlantic/Mediterranean area

So if one of those three is in the area, potentially one of these CURVs could be looking?

Current would prob push them east, not west.

No idea. If it imploded and essentially flattened, I doubt it's goes anywhere very far. Maybe some slightly buoyant pieces could surface...

I don’t think it’s big enough to have a debris field. It’s the size of a car. I think no one will figure out what happen until many years later. They will probably find this sub at the bottom next to the titanic. Buried alive at sea

That thing is solid titanium to protect from outside pressure, a GPS signal wouldn’t make it through. If they placed it on the exterior then it’d be crushed from the force of the ocean at those depths so there’s not much for options.

Here is a CBS news story on the sub back in November

As if the $250,000 price tag is t enough of a deterrent, this video shows you just how risky it is. It was only a matter of time before there would be a disaster. The reporter even joked when signing the disclaimer of risk/death.

If I never read the first 20 pages then I’d say about 50/50.

If it lost power and doesnt implode they'll likely never find it. It's adrift somewhere in the water column and possibly going to end up on the bottom very far from where it was launched. It's very small and not a very distinct shape. It'll be damn near impossible to find without a colossal effort.
