Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Tiger was driving 83 MPH in a 45 mph zone at the time of the crash. They say speed was the sole cause of the crash. We're told Tiger waived his right of privacy and authorized the release of the accident report to the public.

We're told the SUV's black box shows Tiger actually accelerated at the time of the crash. We're also told that just as Tiger lost control the SUV actually gained speed.

quote:

There's more ... law enforcement sources tell us, the Sheriff's Dept. did not get a warrant to check Tiger's cell phone to determine if he was on a call or texting at the time of the crash. Our sources say the Dept. felt it did not have probable cause to get a warrant for cell phone records, although that is often done in accident investigations.

Our sources say Tiger hit his head 3 to 4 times on something hard in the cabin.

So I guess that rules out road head as being the cause of the crash.

I can't stand people who refer to themselves in the third person.

Serious question, is this type of technology in all new cars, or is this something specifically he has because he's rich and obviously drives a nicer car than me?

Problem solved. Then again, not sure how some cities will meet their budgets if all cars are automated.

I have no idea whether this is something that exists on all modern cars but its worth noting this was a loaner vehicle directly from Genesis as title sponsor of the tournament. It wouldn't be surprising if they added data gathering equipment to the vehicle.

Many have them. It is what some insurance companies, like Progressive and others, plug into to give you your "safe driving discounts". Personally, I think it is just an easier way to be able to deny your claim like when you are doing 83 in a 45

Lots of cars have had them for 20 years or more. I would be surprised at any car manufactured after 2015 not having one.
