You do realize that Debeers came up with the 3 month salary budget?

You realize that 90% of the country doesn't have 1k in savings?

You want someone making 50k per yr to spend 12k on a ring then 15k on a wedding.

Do you realize why our citizens are broke as frick? Because of letting emotional or irrational people make financial decisions.

Give the woman the ring you want.

Do you realize that I said set a budget but let her have some say about it because she’s the one what have to wear it?

The key word is BUDGET. That can be whatever the frick a couple can afford. I didn’t say a someone has to go broke. Ffs, read mofo, read.

She should be proud because he gave it to her. The yes isn't dependent upon the ring.

I didn't ask my wife what she wanted. I knew what my wife would love and purchased accordingly, all of her friends and co-workers raved.

You know why? I knew my wife to be and what she would love.

Just because you didn’t ask your wife for her input doesn’t make it wrong to ask.

I might not have even spent a month's take home pay.

Nothing like starting out life together tens of thousands in debt for a ring and a big wedding

Oh I read, but you apparently misunderstood my comment. To each their own and great that your wife loves her ring. I just think it’s self centered to not ask someones opinion about something like that. Do you not ask her opinion on anything else or do you just ball up an just make those life decisions on your own?

Long before my days as an OT baller my wife then fiancee told me she'd rather spend the money on a fun vacation than jewelry. Spent about $1200 and we spent a weekend in Tahoe and a week in Cozumel.

Now I spend that shite on a vet bill because the goddamn dogs are old and need sedated to pull their teeth. #FirstWorldProblems
