Solid choice. Hardly ever see them for transmission work.

A reliable, boring box of a vehicle.

My family has owned 4. I don't particularly like them, but I can't find much bad to say about them other than being bland as shite.

Older Honda Pilots = Single Mom car

New Pilots = Great family vehicles

If I bought a Honda, I'd make sure to get the Honda Sensing package.

Adaptive Cruise, Brake Hold, Lane Keep assist, Autobraking collision avoidance

You can pretty much ride handsfree on the interstate with the LKA

The new Traverse that just came out is actually really nice.

I own a Terrain with 120K on it. That powertrain has more gremlins than an 1980's lunchbox

We own two. It's just simply a great vehicle at a good price

Either Highlander or Pilot are your best options.

Wife has a 2017 EXL. We traded a 2015 EXL for this one. The new model is light years ahead of the older boxy model. More room up front with better camera and entertainment package. The best thing is they fixed the road noise issue and the ride is really nice. We thought about a highlander but the Pilot had more room. I paid right around 35K for the EXL which was pretty close to edmunds TMV for the Baton Rouge area. Also has a few more HP that the older model but gets better MPG. Solid buy IMO. We thought about RES for the kids but the upgrade was 2K. You can do aftermarket for way less or buy them Ipads. Also the new pilots have carplay so your iphone nav works great on the entertainment screen.

Pilot will be my wife's next car. I think it is the perfect family vehicle.

Not big. Just another phrase for "I can't afford it"

We have a 2016 Touring. Overall, a great family vehicle with plenty of room and conveniences. Here are my few gripes.

1) The entertainment system is very meh and has flaky bluetooth with some phones. May want to check that during a test drive.
2) The 9-speed transmission in the Touring is a little laggy in the low gears. I'd go with the 6-speed and get the entertainment package on a lower model if I had to do it over again.
3) The engine idle shutoff at red lights is annoying. You can turn it off, but you have to do it every time you get back in the car.

Overall, would recommend.

I already have a Tahoe so I don't want two. I need another SUV for my wife that gets better gas mileage than my Tahoe and isn't as big. She doesn't like driving it and it'll make our garage too tight.

I'm too tall to ride in a Highlander with a car seat behind me. They have no leg room. Everything else about it is fine but that's a deal breaker for me. I like the Traverse, Enclave and Pilot but when comparing all of them the Pilot seems to win. The new ones look a lot better than the old box style so I assume people on here haven't seen them.

Ex Wife has a 2008 Pilot VP (value package)
$26,900 plus ttl. (Purchased oct 2007)
194,000 miles

Replaced timing belt around Year 7
No other repairs / break downs other than regular maintenance

The best value I have ever seen!

Only complaint
Value package had weird neoprene seats that stained easily...

Anyone here own or owned a Honda Odyssey? Was planning to get the Pilot for my wife but she is now more interested in the van.

My wife's Odyssey has around 205K on it. Still a great driving vehicle.

Need a mid size SUV with a 3rd row. Don't want anything too big like a Tahoe. I've driven a Highlander, Traverse, and Enclave as rentals and I think that's a good size for us. Enclave was nice and probably my favorite of the ones I've had. Highlander had no leg room. The pilot looks to have what I want but I haven't been in a new one. Gas mileage seems the best of the ones I like too which is great. So for those who have one what do you like or dislike about it?

Soccer mom SUV all the way.

Being a Honda it's bullet proof , of course.
