Right, i am not in the business of moving for a wash. I’ll stay in Dallas if that’s the case. I am getting relo stacked on top of course.
I do think upper 80’s would give me a little more cushion. But then again i am not up to speed on Denver pricing. I’ve shopped around online today and they look comparable to dallas rent.

But in all seriousness here are a few tips, they are overbuilding apartments so don't accept the sticker price, you'll have wiggle room to get the rent knocked down or a couple free months.
Live close to where you work, traffic is miserable and you'll lose your mind if you live on one side of the metro and work on the other.

That's a solid area now with how it was redeveloped. You could live downtown and have a short drive or depending on location you could take the A train and really make it easy.

You should go out for a Rugby team in Denver. It's huge there.
Glendale(burb) has one of the new MLR pro teams and nice new stadium. There's also several other teams around the area and each has a division 1(very competitive) and a social team(no experience necessary).
You'll instantly have 80-100 friends and a very good social and fitness group.
I have several contacts with Queen City Rugby and Denver Highlanders Rugby if you are interested. Perfect for your age and stage in life, OP.

Denver is a pretty awesome place to live. Colorado in the Summer is freaking fantastic.

Upper 80s you wil be fine in Denver. Unless you are deadset on purchasing a house in a cool area of town(which you probably could still pull off) youd find a nice place to live. Check out Edgewater for a house if thats your goal.

I'm actually taking the week off work next week (using 4 vacation days to have 8 days off) and driving out there to see a buddy of mine and ski for a couple of days and then drive back. Did it 3 or 4 times 20 years ago and even lived out there for a year. It's a haul (from both Alabama and Louisiana) but isn't too bad if you break it into two days. I recommend driving out there at least once though just to see parts of the country you'd never otherwise see. Colorado is as beautiful in person as it looks in pictures.

There are only two problems with Denver coming from Dallas:
1. Altitude. It can knock you on your arse when you first get there. However, after a week or two, it will be fine.
2. Men greatly outnumber women there.
Other than those two issues, I would say a move from Dallas to Denver would be a clear trade up.

You should definitely do it. Just allow yourself two days driving there and two days driving back. Leave Saturday morning and get there Sunday evening. Ski 3 days from Monday thru Thursday and drive back Friday and Saturday allowing yourself to recover on Sunday.
Spring Break (anytime in March) is a fantastic time to go skiing out there too. Not nearly as cold as December thru February, the resorts have their peak snow base at that time, and they still get a lot of snow that month. You'll likely have a day where you get dumped on with snow with some sunny days with high temps in the 40s as well. It's the best month to ski out there in my humble opinion.
