Personally, I couldn't imagine leaving Dallas in my late 20's and trying to restart. That is 100% based upon my friends and family in a 5 minute radius of me so I've never made it further into the decision processing tree past "HELL NO".
If I didn't have that, the pay was a lot more, etc., and I was taking an honest look at it I might still say no based on cost of living, taxes, possibly an even worse housing situation (if that's imaginable) and the general economic trajectory of Dallas (i.e. building a very long term career here where moving around for upward movement is key)...
However, if I liked pot and skiing and generally just didn't care for Dallas then Denver would be worth rolling the dice on.

My concerns here would be all financial. Denver is an awesome city, you have nothing holding out back, and it's an increased role at work.
However, 20% increase likely isn't that much of a real increase. State income tax knocks you back before anything else. Also, Denver and Colorado in general is much more expensive than DFW.
I'd look at your specific financial factors and see if the move makes sense. If so, I would definitely go for it.

If I were in your exact position, it would have been about a 12 second decision. Give it a shot. If in a couple years you aren't happy with it, you will still be plenty young enough to adjust/move.

Nearly everything about Denver is better than Dallas. It has much more to offer than just pot and skiing.

I don't like the "if you don't like it after a year, move" part. I thought that too once, and it's severely damaged my career and hindered my quality of life.

Now is the time in your life to make career moves like this. I would absolutely do it.
FWIW, people grow exponentially whenever they move to a new location and have to rely on themselves. It's a good thing to experience in your 20s. Just know that Dallas isn't going anywhere so if you end up not liking it after a couple years you can always move back.

Honestly I've debated just going and getting a job when I got there because I loved it so much out there.

Want to vaguely tell us the field? Assuming a lot here but at your age the next promotion you get could easily be 20%? Then again, maybe not.
For everyone saying "career move", I'm curious at your age. For someone in their 20's, again depending on the industry, the only truly effective career move is jumping ship.

I agree. That's pretty much what I did when I moved to Dallas and knew no one out of college. I feel like I finally have some roots down here and wanted to buy a condo or town home soon. My family loves visiting me here since it's an easy weekend trip from Arkansas. The thought of resetting my life doesn't sound that appealing. But, career wise it's a smart move.
As other have stated the COL in Denver is more than Dallas. Plus the 4.63% state tax in CO compared to 0% in TX. My current salary is low 70's and the new one would be upper 80's for comparison.

Me and my wife made the jump to Denver from NOLA a little over a year ago. We were very hesitant as all of our family is in South Louisiana. By far the best decision we could have made. They have a vacation spot now, and I don't have to attend every niece and nephew spiderman party!

Made the move several years ago and pretty much in same boat as you.
You’ll be amazed at how many southern people are in Denver. We seem to be like magnets to each other. You won’t have a hard time meeting great friends if you just don’t plain suck.

I dated a girl from Glenwood back in college. It's a nice area of the state but man is it a small town. I don't think I could live there.

First, Denver is an amazing city. My dads side of the family is from there and I still have lots of relatives in the Denver area. Been there many times.
Now, having said that...you need to take a hard look at your finances. Denver is very, very expensive and the housing market is insane. Houses go way, WAY over asking price.
Like others have said, you'll have to account for paying state income tax on top of a much more expensive place to live. I just don't see 20% covering it.
