That is why I have a trailer I pull with my Jeep. You do not need a truck.

Also, Jeeps in general serve 0 purpose outside of looks for 90% of their owners.
Me and some guys are going rock crawling this weekend.

0 purpose? Any house that doesn’t have a truck needs a truck at least a couple times a month.
I said it would serve 0 purpose to me. I have two dogs. I'm not sticking them in the bed of the truck.
Trucks in general would not be a vehicle I would want for that reason alone. Also...the bed of that jeep truck is short like others pointed out. You would actually have more space to haul something in a regular 4 door jeep with the back seat down than that little bed in the back.

What’s the purpose of a 2 wheel drive Jeep
Who actually buys a 2 wheel drive Jeep though?

We don't have trucks and we've never had this issue. Again...we both have 4 door jeeps...put back seat down and you have a ton of space.
Also...if you honestly need a truck..you can rent one for cheap for a day at Home Depot, Lowes, whatever now.

I've never seen a 2 wheel drive jeep.

They made some 2 wheel drive wranglers, but that was a decade ago.

I want one, but the $2k premium vs a similarly equipped Rubi is a tough value proposition.
It's basically a 4 door Wrangler with actual cargo utility. I love it.

That will be the next thing we get. Some sort of trailer. Friends of mine got a camping trailer. I've seen some that has a tent stored in the bottom and you can use it like a regular trailer to haul stuff as well.
Something like this...this is without the tent. With the tent the sides go down and the tent sits on top.
Offroading camping trailers are cool as well..

I think it’s sweet, I live at the beach and it looks like a great beach vehicle but I’d never spend the money on it.

You can't even haul lumber or plumbing pipes in that.
The tailgate comes down and there will be aftermarket extenders for the bed. The bed is more designed to haul camping gear and outdoor toys rather than lumber and pipe. It’s not meant to be a work truck, but rather a Wrangler with more cargo space.

They already make a front clip conversion so this is very possible.

Wait, what?
We don't have a truck and the last time we needed one was moving furniture >2 years ago.
Where did you get this ridiculous calculation from?

Same but I’m waiting a model year or two. I’ll let the fanboys iron out all the kinks first
Currently drive a RAM w the 5.7L V8. It’s run a perfect 147k miles. I’m worried the 3.7L v6 is not as bulletproof

Isn't Jeep one of the worse manufacturers in terms of quality and repair?

I dunno. I'm on the fence. I'm not a fan of Jeeps but this is kind of cool.

Not a fan... Base is $35k+, well option Rubicon will be $50k+. When the Rubicon diesel option becomes available will likely be $65k.
No thanks...
But you can get the Launch Edition now for $62k+

Holy shite. Auto prices are fricking insane now.

Sold my TJ a few weeks ago. Currently driving a Highlander that my daughter will drive in 5 years. I’ll see how reliable these are, but it’s on the short list for my next vehicle. I always loved the CJ8 and this seems like the modern version. It can seat all 5 in my family and have the option of a smaller bed in the back. I can take the top and doors off like a Jeep, haul the family, and throw a bed cover on to stow luggage for trips.

Had been waiting for the Jeep truck for years but I learned long ago to NEVER buy the first year model of a new vehicle.

Then with all due respect you’ve probably never driven a truck or had one. Ok maybe I went overboard with the ‘need’ a truck a couple times a month. But my point is that unless it’s raining or bad whether then a truck is much easier to haul stuff almost always. I have a work van and a truck and my wife has an suv. Unless it’s raining outside, a truck is just easier to use most of the time.
This jeep truck has 4 doors, you could put your dogs in the back seat.
I’m not a huge fan of the Jeep truck. My point is that there is a huge percentage of people that drive jeeps because they think they are cool not because of their off road and actual ability. Maybe not you, but a huge percentage. This ‘truck’ serves that market just the same. I wouldn’t buy it at that price tag, but I also don’t understand the hate?
Plenty of soccer moms drive $60k vehicles and don’t need that much vehicle either.

I've always liked the AEV conversion. Especially when some of the custom shops sub out the Inline 6/V6 for the 5.7 V8
The fact is we've finally reached the point where Wranglers/Gladiators are getting in the 65K-70K range for a brand new one. That's a weird pill to swallow.

I wish they'd just called it the Scrambler since that's basically what it is.
