I'm not understanding the hate for the Gladiator. For what you get new on the market these days, this has some really strong features. Much of this price you would pay more for via the aftermarket for heavy axles, detachable sway bars, winch, etc.
The ability to get a diesel with a manual transmission - that's unheard of anymore. Then again I'm sure most people here can't even drive a stick so there's that.

No sense in trying to be sensible. Everything new is always overpriced and and not as good as the decades old version

Probably been mentioned at some point in here, but Doug Demuro just reviewed it and touched on price. Basically said for everything you get the price is right on par with its competition. Loaded Rubicon model is only $1,000 or $2,000 more than a similar Tacoma TRD Pro and is arguably a more capable and versatile vehicle.

I'm not a fan with 4door Jeeps, if they made a 2 door version of the Gladiator I'd probably more on board. The diesel Rubi will likely be $65k+, I just think that's absurd.

That's just fricking stupid. For under $10,000 you can get a 2004 Land Rover Discovery and slap on some Super Swampers, an old man emu lift, rack and ladder and a snorkel and it'll be every bit as capable as any of those trucks and carry 7 passengers and tow a 7000 pound trailer and only be broken down twice as much.

I know trucks are a status symbol, especially in the South and especially in Texas and Louisiana but the only people that should own pickup trucks are people who do blue collar work for a living and need to make short runs, often, for extra material where it would be cumbersome to hook up and drag a trailer around.
Or somebody who needs to haul around a heavy tag trailer like a large travel trailer or heavy equipment trailer since most SUVs don't have the towing capacity.

I work on vehicles, not for a living though, this is more true than many people realize. Especially for American and British brands.
They don't like to spend time and money on QC. Their consumers are the lab rats.
