I’m in love with this truck and I’m counting down the seconds until mine can be ordered. I’m just waiting on a call from my salesman. Optioned out a Rubicon- came out to $58k.

Saw it at the dfw autoshow last week. it's ok...stock. It has a mini-hummer look going on, and lots of cool possibilities for jeep fans. Which will be a bunch of chicks. I personally dont like the short bed. 4 door trucks with <5' beds look stumpy to me, and not a fan.

It is actually pretty damn cool, but I am a Jeep guy.
You can put 35" tires on the Rubicon, but it already comes with 33" tires.
It has lots of cool little things with it, however there is one issue - PRICE.
A fully loaded one is past $60,000 and that is truly ridiculous. At that price I would get a proper truck.

I want one, but the $2k premium vs a similarly equipped Rubi is a tough value proposition. There are dealers advertising decent deals already so I don’t think the truck will bring ADM-type demand. Regardless, the Launches will sell for mid $50Ks.
It keeps getting compared to other mid sized trucks. I see it cannibalizing regular Rubi sales, not taking sales from the Toyota. The Tacoma is the leader of the segment; a loaded TRD Pro is is $43k. A base Rubi will get close to that price after discounts and won’t be on a dealer lot.

I don't consider it a truck. It's essentially equivalent to the Ford sport tracks. There isn't much that you can put in that bed, that you couldn't put into an SUV. I want a real truck to haul anything I would need a truck for. You can't even haul lumber or plumbing pipes in that. That's just an ugly toy with an essentially worthless space in the back. Like another poster said, you could haul flowers from Lowe's in it, but you can't even haul that many.

Meh
Bed in the back seems pointless. Would serve no purpose to me since I have dogs.

I think I rather just have a regular truck and a jeep as a second vehicle instead of combining the two.

If only FCA built autos weren’t steaming piles of shite.

My boss at work talks non stop about this. He totaled his truck about 6 months ago and is waiting on this to come out before he buys a new truck and is driving a beater until then.

0 purpose? Any house that doesn’t have a truck needs a truck at least a couple times a month.
Also, Jeeps in general serve 0 purpose outside of looks for 90% of their owners. What’s the purpose of a 2 wheel drive Jeep? 0 purpose but looks.

Doug DeMuro had a pretty good video about it going through the ins and out of it, and gave the impression that its a pretty good addition to the Jeep lineup and will be a fun drive.

Too many doors
Proportions are hideously awful
To get that bad image out of your head, here's something nice to look at.

Exact example I use, and when you put that pic in someones mind, you can see the disappoint of that view they cant get out of their head anymore. Ha.
Problem with the new ford ranger. it's just a sport trac to todays tech standards. I told the ford rep talking to me at the auto show that it's just a sport trac, and disappointment just exploded all over his face. Ha.
