Those temperature gun, forehead thermometers are awfully inaccurate

Just rode in a hot arse car after mowing and almost wasn't allowed inside a business because my surface temperature was 100 degrees.

According to ours at work I am a corpse

My temp has been 97.3 for the past 3 weeks somehow.
Literally hasn't changed.
Plus, it's pretty terrible starting my work day with a supervisor in a mask holding a gun to my forehead for 5 seconds.

I'm not seeing why you think it's inaccurate.

Maybe you were 100 degrees at that point in time

Are you sure you don’t have a fever?

How did you determine that the one used on you was inaccurate? Did you check your body temp against your own calibrated thermometer you carry around everywhere?

This is like saying you drank coffee and an oral thermometer said 100, so oral thermometers are inaccurate.

They turned my daughter away at the ortho last week because they couldn't get it below 99.4 or 99.6, whichever it was. Plus they tried two different ones, about 8-10 times each trying to get a "safe" reading. So they were willing to get 1 out of 20+ readings in their safe zone and let her in. They should get those under the tongue ones with the disposable covers like every doctor's office I've been in if they're going to be that anal about it.

Have your temperature taken rectally for best results

Yeah sadly surface temperature isn’t a super great metric for inferring core temperature, especially during the heat of summer

I was at 95.2 the other day after sweating from golf and having a hat on. Didnt make much sense

Its literally impossible to gauge your temperature accurately with out the thing touching you. I don’t care what technology says. Every morning they zap me for work its never read higher than 96

A co-worker of mine got a reading of 93.4 the other day...immediately channeling my inner "Major League" by saying "this guy here is dead!"

If I point a gun at somebody’s head, their temp is about to drop significantly.

I ruined a brisket last weekend by trusting those POS surface temp guns I stole from the haircut place.

They check my temp everyday at work when I go through the gate. All I do about 5 minutes out is crank my a/c down as low as it will go, and point every vent at my face.
Been a steady 97.1-97.3 the last 2 1/2 months

Either way, the temperature thing is bullshite in identifying someone who is showing symptoms of Covid-19.. what’s stopping someone from just taking Tylenol before going into work or anywhere else requiring a scan?
