oil;/

It would be where ever the closest city would totally subsidize the venue and give him tax breaks.

It wouldn't be a known franchise. It would be something like Amazon (female only) mud wrestling. Something that would appeal to a certain per cent of the population, that would have low liability, that would draw advertising dollars.

Call them Elon's Muskrats.

Only Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos have the means to travel in space. Got it.

#2 to say someone with a net worth of $1MM can afford a second home by the shore is..

EXACTLY!

Maybe if you get a pension, too. But the rest of us 401k- era folks are hoping $1M means I only have to work at Walmart part-time.

According to this only 5.3% of the world has a net worth north of $1MM. That’s sad.

If we are speaking the ENTIRE WORLD POPULATION, I'm sort of shocked it's that high.

Not sure where the OP got 5.3% (I didn’t click the link, so maybe it’s in there), but if I’m reading the table right, the actual percentage of millionaires is under 1%, not 5.3%.

I wonder how accurate it is, it isn't hard these days, certainly after a few years in the work force, to have a net worth of a mil

That depends on how much child support is/was

Only one person so far, not including me, has read the chart right.

These are ranges.

The amount listed is the BOTTOM of the bracket.

So, #5 is $100,000-$999,999
#6 is $1,000,000-$9,999,999

etc.

I don't think most of the responses realize net worth means the value of your assets, less your liabilities. That $500K home with a mortgage of $450K leaves a net worth of $50K. This isn't "How much do you make?" chart.

Not necessarily. Age should be a factor in here too.

Net worth of 1MM at 35 is great.

Net worth of 1MM at 65 not so much.

Not exactly. You'd be surprised the extremely large % of 65 year olds that do not have a net worth of anything. A few reasons. First, a decent salary for a 65 year, when they were in their 20's in the 1970s was probably 20-30k/year. Second, not many bothered saving much either due to their getting a nice pension til they die.

A net worth of $1 Mil @ 65 without a pension is worth what with a nice $40k/yr pension?

$1 million net worth is nothing. $10 million is a little better but still nothing crazy.

If you have a decent job and are a disciplined saver, you’ll be a millionaire one day.

$10M is an incredible amount of wealth. Takes more than making good money and being a great saver.

Most Americans are in the top 1% wealthiest in the world.

Which begs the question. What are you doing with your wealth?

Only if you have no kids and do nothing to ever enjoy life (go on vacations, splurge on yourself from time to time, buy yourself toys, etc.)

Then guess what? Your old crusty arse might have a million dollars but you wasted all that life away saving up for it. Now what?
