For south Louisiana, you couldn’t get much better than today

After Independence Day and before football season starts, all we have are heat, humidity, rain, mosquitoes, cutting grass every 5 to 7 days, and an occasional hurricane.

There is something romantic about it.

Spring in south Louisiana is BY FAR the most enjoyable season weather-wise. April is the best month of the year.

Agreed. We don’t get fall and winter, while mild, is too humid or wet and summers are downright miserable.

I’m with you on summer. The older I get the less I like it. But I do like Spring.

Living in the PNW, I am looking forward to summer and getting out of these “grey” rainy days

The weather couldn’t be any better here in Oregon.

We also have, on average, 300 days of sunny weather.

Who is “they” in your mind?

Not sure about his mind, but history tells us Babylonians, Chinese, Egyptians, and Greeks made observations that led to the seasons being recognized. The Romans marked them on the Julian calendar. Greek mythology suggests they were created by Demeter, based on her mood swings.

Psycho

No, if you're from the deep south the spring and summer are arse. It's all perspective. I'm sure people in Marquette, Michigan love summer. It's swamp arse in S. Louisiana for 5 months

Yes, the first real cold front of the fall through the last cold front of the spring is the best time of the year.

For the next 6 months, I have to cut grass every 7 to 10 days in 85 to 95 degree heat with 80 to 90 percent humidity.

I’ll never understand people who live in the south and then bitch about the heat and humidity. Yeah no shite, it gets hot in the summer.

Negative. There’s just nothing enjoyable about SE LA in the spring and summer.

Not me. I'm retired. Except for church or a meeting at the bank or an attorney's office, I don't wear long pants until it gets in the lower 40's. Shorts, short socks and either running shoes or hiking shoes.
I'm 67 but have the legs of a fit 30 year-old!
