Jesus Christ, the hyperbole in this is so fricking stupid.

Not sure why you got 77 downvotes, OP. I agree with you. People burying their head in the sand is why this keeps happening.

Do you support such ‘mental health’ restrictions on other constitutional rights? What about privileges like voting, driving, having kids?

voting and driving? absolutely
the franchise should require a tax return and proof of competency.
driving already requires proof of competency.

as far as spawning we are already well past the point of natural selection maintaining the overall health of the species. We are far too gone now to fix

Who said I was crying?

There’s a difference between car accidents and mass murder.

Reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit. My OP said nothing about changing my lifestyle because of these shootings.

You are rambling on and comparing shootings to car accidents, the latter of which is not relevant to this discussion. Hell, we may as well talk about genetic heart disease too.

This is probably the most retarded argument I’ve ever heard. But whatever. Keep burying your head in the sand.

you’re right, we have to stop burying our heads in the sand that a very specific group of less than 6.5% of the US population commits over half of the gun related homicides.

We should have an open conversation and someone take responsibility for this overwhelming fact.

The problem is, it always becomes political. I’m conservative. At the same time, these crimes transcend political affiliation.

I don’t give a shite what ‘side’ you are on. Statistics shouldn’t be used to dismiss the fact that this is a problem.

A small portion of America is committing these crimes, yes. Should we just ignore the problem? Both sides need to compromise to attempt to fix the issue. That’s it. Try something. Anything.

Interesting that the more ubiquitous the government becomes in our daily lives, the less safe and secure we are.

Not sure why this has received so many downvotes. This isn't really an opinion. Its a fact. If there was all kind of crime and bad things going on and you never hear about it (like in the 70s and 80s when crime was much higher, but the only news people heard about was what was on a 30 mins evening world news broadcast or what was published in the news paper) then your life seems good and that's your perception of the world.

Not there is social media. As soon as you get on it all you see is all the bad shite that is going on.

Its like with the WAFB traffic alerts. If you have the WAFB app alerts turned on you get traffic notifications almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day. I've heard people make comments like "man it seems like they have so many more wrecks today". No. Its that they report on more wrecks today.

Considering that was more of an opinion, I don’t know how it could be true or false.

You are foolish if you think you don’t need to be aware of your surroundings.

There are no measures we can take to prevent violence. As long as conservatives keep sending thoughts and prayers, we'll all be ok in the long run.

Just the opposite. If the liberals would allow the mentally ill to be institutionalized, mass shootings would be cut by more than two thirds.
