Curious that.

This is a stupid thread and without a link or some sort of information completely useless

Not to mention a weird time for it considering school is out

You need to sit out from thread starting for a while

Poor middle class EBR families gotta pay a pointless property tax check that goes to nothing of use, then gotta pay for private/home schooling.

In my 12 years of catholic school I think I saw punches thrown twice and both were at sporting events on campus

Here's the link for the guy asking

EBR Parish School System appears to be more f-cked up than OPSB pre-Katrina.
State needs to take it over as a failed school system.

Lack of parenting.

What do you mean? The majority of the fight videos I've seen recently the disprove the lack of parenting theory.

Do you remember the video of the mom going to the bus stop and beating the sht out of the bus driver because dey kid wuz axed ta get off da bus fo direspecken day driva?

Or do you remember the mom in nola who gave her daughter a gun to shoot the kids who beat her up on the bus?

Hell, it was just last month that almost 200 parents and students showed up at the EBR Readiness Alternative School and participated in a massive brawl.

Obviously the problem isn't the lack of parenting. The problem is the parenting they are getting.

The only way to correct this is to remove the parents and turn the schools into military style boarding schools.

Saw maybe 3 fights in 12 years public school in 50's and 60's. Best was two junior high girls.

Of course, 10 of those years schools were segregated.

No way. Going to uniforms was going to put an end to all of the discipline problems in the schools.

I did my best to find how many schools in the Baton Rouge school district. The best I could find was the EBR schools site so I went with that, it looks like 60+ schools. So over about 60 schools in 360 days.

That is 18 fights per day over 60+ schools.
That is less than 2 fights per school per week.

Is that really horrible? I need more context on how they came up with these numbers like if it includes minor scuffles between elementary kids, guys posturing but never really throwing punches, etc., or if was it just high schoolers actually throwing punches (which would lower the school numbers).

I feel like I saw quite a few fights back in school, being a public school kid in Lafayette/Scott area in the 60s & 70s but it also seems like many of those were not actually reported to the school.

ETA: didn't think about school days vs calendar days, thanks Beer

No, there were a lot more. More drugs and guns too. They cover up a lot of shite. The district admins are corrupt as frick. They can claim they reduced suspensions and expulsions because they took that power away from the school admins. We had a kid that went over an admins desk to attack her and the girl got two days in in-school suspension.

They don’t have summer school anymore? For the idiots …I would image they bring the numbers way up throughout the year. The honors classes aren’t cranking up those numbers.
