The expectations of many these days far exceed what reality can afford. IMO, that gap is what creates masses that are ungrateful unappreciative. Many act like teenagers going though puberty their whole lives.

Quality post. Seeing Karen's on Twitter crying about not having it all in their 20's is a sad testament.

There are things called starter homes and used cars. And living within your means while establishing yourself.

Happiness is closely linked to contentment which doesn't have to be locked in to your bottom line.

Drug offenders have special drug courts and diversion programs. Yours is an old canard.

We don't incarcerate nearly enough people. Crimes are committed everyday by convicted felons roaming the streets. All they do is spread misery and havoc.

Agree. In every thread like this, some uninformed chucklehead talks about "drug offenders"

Wr haven't locked up drug offenders in a long time.

We don't lock up violent criminals nearly long enough.

They didn’t ask me.

I’m so happy, I almost feel guilty.

(Not really, I just say that because I probably should feel guilty but I don’t)

Thank Liberals and the brainless administration for that. It's their fault and only theirs.

One of the main reasons being we incarcerate more people than anywhere else on the planet. Downvote away, but it’s true.

So, do you think they’re just grabbing random innocent people off the streets and locking them up for nothing?

Our problem isn’t that we have too many people in prison, it’s that we don’t have near enough. And they keep letting the ones they’ve locked up back out on the streets.

Since when? Possessing certain types and quantities can result in a felony charge, with jail time a certain possibility.

Nothing to do with racial diversity.
- Scandinavian Countries are wealthy
- Better work-life balance
- Diets that consist of real food, not snack packs, Doritos and fast food.

Oh yea - better universal education. Which would improve all the other items on the list.

That's really it.

If you look at earliest posts with the morons who advocate for keeping their work phones on them at all times during their vacations, that might be a clue.

Social cohesion and trust breaks down in diverse societies. Society just doesn’t function as well and outcomes are poorer for everyone.

They have a chart on this on visualcapitalist.com. Well, I am looking at the website and can't find it, but I know the app has it.

They also have a chart that shows the happiest countries among people under 30 and Lithuania is #1...

I can see that. We’ve been sold a bill of goods and fell for it. Work is the most important thing here. As I near retirement, while I still think we are the greatest country in many ways, work/life balance isn’t one of them. Aside from theft by over taxing us, most folks are lucky to get 2 weeks vacay. I get more, but still. At least Europe gets it in this regard. A lot of our clients are in Europe and they are always on holiday. Oh, and their food isn’t poisoning them like our FDA allows here.

You mean if someone has a mountain of fentanyl they might go to jail?

It wasn’t very long ago that Baton Rouge was among the happiest cities in the US it seems absurd now.
